Artist: CHADBOURNE WITH STEVE BERESFORD & ALEX WARD, EUGENE
Title: Pleasures of the Horror
Format: LP
Label: Bisou
Country: France
Price: $23.00
"Bisou Records asked Eugene Chadbourne to do an album for children and he proposed an album about horror movies and monsters. Some references are obvious, like "The Thing", "Blacky Lagoony", etc., and some are about strange characters, like "Vampire Tiger Girl", and some are covers (Sam And The Shams, Shockabilly). Its probably the best recorded album of Eugene Chadbourne. Eugene met Steve Beresford and Alex Ward in London at Eastcote Studios, where Adele, Duran Duran, Aswad, Tindersticks, and Depeche Mode recorded). They used a good part of the instruments available there: grand piano, wood organ, many amps, loads of keyboards. Steve Beresford is famous for his solo recording The Bath Of Surprise (1980). He was part of The Melody Four (with Lol Coxhill and Tony Coe) and released records on labels like Emanem, nato, and Tzadik. Alex Ward was 14 when Derek Bailey started to play with him, as a duo, and in a trio with Steve Noble. He is a great musician who can improvise on the clarinet as well as create noise on electric guitar." - Bisou.

Artist: COSTES
Title: Plastic & Magic
Format: CD/Book
Label: Bisou
Country: France
Price: $16.00
"2016 release. The first children book (including a ten-track CD) by hardcore performer Costes. Costes is famous all over the world for his multiple tours in the US, Japan, and Europe. He wrote more than two-thousand songs over the last thirty years and shot a lot of videos too. Bisou Records asked him to do a book for children, so he invented a story, did the drawings, composed, performed, and recorded the songs over three weeks. The story is about friendship and love and there are a lot of strange encounters with the Monsieur-Peur ("Mister-Fear"), a giant mole, and a lot of other animals. The texts and lyrics are in French." - Bisou.

Artist: FOUSSAT/CHRISTIAN ROLLET/QUENTIN ROLLET, JEAN-MARC
Title: Entree Des Puys De Grele
Format: CD
Label: Bisou
Country: France
Price: $13.00
"Improvised trio featuring sound engineer and Synthi player Jean-Marc Foussat, and father and son Christian and Quentin Rollet. Foussat is famous for his hundreds of recordings of Derek Bailey, Steve Lacy, Massacre, Carlos Zingaro, Joëlle Léandre, and many others free improvisers, for labels like Hat Hut, Tzadik, and Rectangle. He made a cult record in 1983 called Abattage and has his own label Fou Records on which he releases mainly his own music. Christian Rollet is the drummer of Workshop De Lyon, one of the oldest French free jazz bands (with over 50 years of activity) and founded the ARFI collective in 1977. He also plays in La Marmite Infernale and many other projects. Quentin Rollet, son of Christian Rollet, plays alto and sopranino sax. He used to run the Rectangle record label from 1995 to 2004 and then started Bisou Records in 2015 with Isabelle Magnon. He plays mostly free music and is often invited to play with bands like Nurse With Wound, The Red Krayola, Prohibition, Mendelson, Akosh S. Unit, Thierry Müller, Ilitch, and Drame. Personnel: Jean-Marc Foussat (Synthi AKS, vocals), Christian Rollet (drums, percussion), Quentin Rollet (alto sax, sopranino sax, keys, voice)." - Bisou.

Artist: KA-SPEL & STEVEN STAPLETON/COLIN POTTER & QUENTIN ROLLET, EDWARD
Title: The Man Who Floated Away / The Closer You Are To The Center, The Further You Are From The Edge
Format: LP
Label: Bisou
Country: France
Price: $23.00
"First ever collaboration between Edward Ka-Spel (from The Legendary Pink Dots and Tear Garden) and Steven Stapleton (from Nurse With Wound). Its been years they both wanted to work together and Bisou Records made that happen when they offered them a side on this split LP. The other side is the first musical meeting of Colin "the master of drone" Potter and French sax player Quentin Rollet (The Red Krayola, Mendelson, Nurse With Wound, Prohibition, David Grubbs, Thierry Müller, Ilitch). That first take was then re-worked in the studio with piano overdubs by Isabelle Magnon. Two long tracks which make you travel, far." - Bisou.

Artist: LYON WORKSHOP
Title: 50th
Format: 6 CD Box Set
Label: Bisou
Country: France
Price: $45.00
"The Workshop From Lyon (previously known as Free Jazz Workshop from 1967 to 1975) is one of the first French free jazz bands. They never stopped playing in 50 years. This boxset is a reissue of their seven LPs (from 1973 to 1997) plus a long out-of-print CD and some live bonus tracks from 1979 and 2010. After some changes of musicians at the very beginning of the band, they released their first album in 1973 with Jean Méreu (trumpet), Maurice Merle (sax), Patrick Vollat (piano), Jean Bolcato (bass), and Christian Rollet (drums). After the first album Jean Méreu left the band and the young Louis Sclavisjoined the band. On the third album the pianist left the band as a quartet to this today. Louis Sclavis left the band after 14 years to be replaced by Jean-Paul Autin in 1988. The death of Maurice Merle in the year 2003 marked the end of the band. Jean Aussanaire replaced him quickly and has stayed in the band since. Workshop De Lyon played in Brazil, Syria, Egypt, USA, and all over Europe. They have their very peculiar sound and tunes, you might call "ARFI Soud", named after the musical collective they started in 1977 in Lyon including bands like Marvelous Band and The Infernal Marmite." - Bisou.

Unit, Jac Berrocal...). A journey through quiet soundscapes alternating with electronics and concrète sounds. A film without image. Recorded by Thierry Müller. Mixed and mastered by Patrick Müller. Artwork by Thierry Müller." - Bisou.
