Artist: DRUMM, KEVIN
Title: Kitchen
Format: LP
Label: Bocian
Country: Poland
Price: $20.00
Edition of 350. “Kevin Drumm is a musician not only known as a one-man-orchestra exploring the boundaries of music, but also a star under the banner of inestimable Bocian Records label. This time we were granted with access to his kitchen. The LP is limited to 34 minutes, consisting of 2 pieces, originally recorded in 1996 yet fully remastered in 2012. Side one piece slowly opens a kitchen door. Smooth, equilibrious and loopy sound fractions that surpass those requirements ambient music is bound to meet. First, a violin plays alongside a Carmen accordion, treated with surprising effects, of which the original sound is not to be easily discovered. The otherside composition leads the listener from the kitchen straight to the slaughterhouse. Incomparably louder and uncompromising; too refined for an industrial-related noise piece, but again overweighing any experimental canon that might be followed. Enjoy the kitchen experience.” - Iwona Palka.

Artist: MOSLANG, NORBERT
Title: Fuzz_Galopp
Format: LP
Label: Bocian
Country: Poland
Price: $20.00
"Norbert Mng, cracked everyday-electronics. Recorded live at Espace Multimedia Gantner, Bourogne, August 22, 2010 by Remy Bux. During the work for Voice Crack duo Norbert Mng was one of the pioneers in the field of sound installation techniques usage in live improvised music. His instruments are cracked everyday-electronics, but sounds themselves are delivered from the mechanical properties of these devices. This kind of approach seems to be similar to Peter Fischli and David Weiss practices in the visual arts fields. The comparison of the film documentaries "The Way Things Go" (1987) about Fischli / Weiss activities and "Kick that habit" (1989) about Voice Crack is quite correct. In the beginnings the Voice Crack sound works were conjured with post-industrial and noise practices of Borbetomagus or Hijokaidan, but in the end it resulted in the rise of XXI century free-improv and EAI movement. Nmperign duo, JerNoetinger, Lionel Marchetti, eRikm, Andrea Neumann, Jason Kahn, Cor Fuhler, etc. Moslang was cooperating with most of these sound artists. After the Voice Crack finished all activities, Mng continued his sound explorations in the field of cracked everyday-electronics. His recordings started to be vivid and colorful, focused more on subtle and precise movements and thrills of the objects. "fuzz_galopp" is a composition of amplified pulsating sounds of cracked everyday-electronics. But the rhythm is a primal foundation of the sound texture. The similar approach was recently used by Pete Swanson and Neil Campbell, however Norbert Mng managed without sampler and drum machine. The whole recording is based on mechanic objects sounds only. On the other hand his music differs from Pierre Bastiens thanks to dense sounds and powerful dynamics. The pure pleasure of galloping fuzz experience!” - Daniel Brozek.

Artist: ROBERT PIOTROWICZ/C.M. VON HAUSSWOLF
Title: Split
Format: LP
Label: Bocian
Country: Poland
Price: $32.00
ROBERT PIOTROWICZs single long track, "Clinamen 3" continues his study of the analog modular synthesizer. The first movement is characterized by a high-frequency tone and an erratic rhythmic bass pulse that slowly build to a wall of symphonic roar. The second movement, a low-end, dark passage, infests the symphonic leads with a sense of evil and menace, the two writhing together in a horror movie haze. The third goes all out, mixing a low end thump with a siren melody lead, dropping subtlety in favor of pure force, before going out like a lamb with a short, simple melodic coda. The first of C.M. VON HAUSSWOLFs quiet, textural studies of sound, "Ritual Shaving of an Ass in Belgium (aka Eating A Piranha Wouldnt Be So Bad The Way Things Are These Days)," is based on loops composed for an installation performance. The textures are light and scratchy, with careful variation on the crunchy textures, with the vaguest insinuation of bass hidden. "Ritual Shaving of an Ass in Poland (aka The Snoring Innocence)," is rawer, static, heavy, and abrasive. With extraneous sounds and audience conversations captured on ragged audio tape, its mangled, worn, decaying nature gives it an historical, hollow quality. Edition of 200." - Bocian.
