"With its inspired marriage of bossa nova and cool electronics, Bebel Gilbertos acclaimed debut album has perfectly captured the mood of the times. Released by Crammed in 2000 on its Ziriguiboom imprint,  Tanto Tempo has become an international best seller, making it one of the most globally successful albums of Brazilian music ever. Artist: KONONO NO. 1
Title: Meets Batida
Format: Double LP
Label: Crammed Discs
Country: Belgium
Price: $25.00
"For this new album, the legendary Congolese band has joined forces with acclaimed Angolan/Portuguese artist Batida aka Pedro Coquenão. Along with producer Vincent Kenis, they convened in Batidas garage-cum-studio in Lisbon with a series of collaborators and friends of Batidas, reflecting the citys vibrant, cosmopolitan music life: guitarist Papa Juju (the leader of Lisbons foremost Afro-fusion band Terrakota), vocalist Selma Uamusse (one of the best young African singers currently residing in Portugal) and MC AF Diaphra, a distinguished slam poet and an artist/producer in his own right. As we all know by now, Konono N°1 are based in Kinshasa, DRC, but originate from the Bakongo ethnic group, which lives in a region straddling the border between the Congo and Angola. Hence certain similarities between Kononos rhythms and some types of Angolan music from which Batida has drawn inspiration for his albums and shows. This encounter was obviously bound to happen… but was nevertheless quite an adventure: blending the worlds of electronics beats and organic grooves was a challenge to which the parties have risen beautifully to create this exciting, unheard-of new strain of Afro-electro music." - Crammed Discs.

Artist: MABOUL, AKSAK
Title: Onze Danses Pour Combattre La Migraine
Format: LP
Label: Crammed Discs
Country: Belgium
Price: $17.00
"Heres at last the vinyl reissue of the seminal album, recorded in 1977 by Crammed founder Marc Hollander with Vincent Kenis (a.o. producer of the Congotronics series), and originally released on Marc Moulins ephemeral Kamikaze label.
In the spring of 1977, two young Belgian musicians who call themselves Aksak Maboul (Hollander & Kenis) set out to record an album in which they playfully fused and deconstructed all kinds of genres to create their own musical world. Three years later, Hollander founded the Crammed label.
Leapfrogging over style & genre boundaries, they took in elements of rock, electronics, jazz, early 20th century classical, imaginary African & Balkan music, American minimalism, and even proto-techno (as in the surprising track Saure Gurke, which foreshadows some characteristic Detroit techno riffs by a good ten years).
"Onze Danses…" became a cult album, and can retrospectively be viewed as a manifesto for the Crammed aesthetics, a blueprint for some of the directions which the label went on to follow during the next few decades." - Crammed Discs.

Artist: MAXIMIN, BERANGERE
Title: Dangerous Orbits
Format: Double LP
Label: Crammed Discs
Country: Belgium
Price: $25.00
"Bérangère Maximin makes spacious colorful music. A sonic sculptress of exception, she started out in an academic environment with an electroacoustic training, and has gradually incorporated the contribution of post-punk, dub and sound art experiments to develop a hyper-personal style, producing sensual, hypnotic, sultry pieces with immediate impact. BM moved from her native Reunion Island to France when she was fifteen, and studied with the musique concrète composer Denis Dufour (a member of the famous GRM and a pupil of Pierre Schaeffer). Her first album came out on John Zorns label Tzadik.
Bérangère naturally drew inspiration from composers such as François Bayle, Luc Ferrari, Eliane Radigue and has also listened to a lot of early electronica and glitch music. She went on to develop her own approach, both to studio recording and to live performance, taking in the experiences gathered in the course of her collaborations with the likes of Fennesz, Rhys Chatham, Richard Pinhas and Fred Frith (with whom she played several duet concerts).
Dangerous Orbits is Bérangère Maximins fourth album, and her first for Crammed Discs Made To Measure series.
Bérangère Maximins music engages the listener in considerations of space and textures. Her new album, Dangerous Orbits takes us in a constant sway between lightness and drama. Curving filigree voices, odd melodies, powerful sub-bass, spacious drones, oceanic vibrations and orchestral bursts flow with evident motricity into a world which is together multidimensional, effusive and raw." - Crammed Discs.

Artist: SHIMIZU, YASUAKI
Title: Music for Commercials
Format: LP
Label: Crammed Discs
Country: Belgium
Price: $20.00
"Originally issued in 1987, Yasuaki Shimizu wrote and recorded this brilliant and inventive collection of short pieces, initially conceived for Japanese TV commercials. This album has achieved near-mythical status in the last few years, which have seen artists such as Oneohtrix Point Never sing its praise. It should be noted that Yasuaki is the man responsible for the wonderful Utakata No Hibi record under the name Mariah from 1983, and reissued on Palto Flats in 2015." - Crammed Discs.

Artist: TUXEDOMOON
Title: Half-Mute
Format: LP
Label: Crammed Discs
Country: Belgium
Price: $17.00
"The very first Tuxedomoon full-length album came of in 1980 on The Residents label Ralph Records. It remains a classic to this day, with its drum machines, minimalistic instrumentation (mostly voice, organ, sax and bass) and strong atmospheres." - Crammed Discs.

Artist: TUXEDOMOON

Artist: TUXEDOMOON & CULT WITH NO NAME
Title: Blue Velvet Revisited
Format: LP
Label: Crammed Discs
Country: Belgium
Price: $17.00
"Crammed Discs are happy to present a new volume in their revived MADE TO MEASURE composers series: the original soundtrack written and recorded in 2015 by Tuxedomoon and Cult With No Name for the Blue Velvet Revisited documentary, based on footage shot by Peter Braatz in 1985 on the set of Blue Velvet, at the invitation of David Lynch. The soundtrack for this new take on an old masterpiece is equally as significant. Uniting the talents of acclaimed UK electronic balladeers CULT WITH NO NAME with legendary post-punk chamber music pioneers TUXEDOMOON, the music for Blue Velvet Revisited is every bit as noirishly evocative as the billing would suggest. Fusing elements of contemporary classical (Lumberton) to jazz (So Fucking Suave) to ambient electronica (Do It For Van Gogh) to krautrock (Jeffrey Nothing), but never fully surrendering to any, Tuxedomoon and Cult With No Name have produced a suite that is as unique as it is representative of both artists. In addition, the album sees a contribution from electronic music Godfather JOHN FOXX, the eerie ambience of Lincoln Street providing a perfect axis around which Tuxedomoon and Cult With No Name can weave their magic.

With glorious artwork featuring previously unseen photographs of David Lynch, Dennis Hopper, Isabella Rossellini, Kyle Maclachlan and Laura Dern, Blue Velvet Revisited is a truly special release." - Crammed Discs.

Artist: ZAZOU / BIKAYE / CY1
Title: Noir et Blanc
Format: LP

Price: $21.00
"An unsurpassed milestone in European/African fusion, this is a head-on collision between traditional Central African vocals and uncompromising analog electronics. Resulting from a torrid studio encounter between Congolese singer Bony Bikaye, Algerian-born French composer Hector Zazou and mad scientists CY1, this album was acclaimed by the international music press, has influenced scores of artists, and remains astonishingly fresh to this day.

One of the most innovative LPs of the year... in the same class as Byrne and Enos "Bush Of Ghosts"... resembles the startling outcome of an imaginary collaboration between DAF and Fela Kuti" (Melody Maker, UK, 83)
Fela-meets-Kraftwerk-on-the-dancefloor (International Musician, USA, 86)" - Crammed Discs.
