Artist: BIRCHALL, STEVE
Title: Reality Gates
Format: CDR
Label: Creel Pone
Country: USA
Price: $12.00
"...deep-fried one-man-against-the-cosmos synth-automaton gunk from the distant us midwest (specifically; bloomington, indiana) of the early 70s, initially released on/by the custom fidelity recordslabel/plant... starts out with the absolutely piercing high tones/clarion call of music of the spheres after which we become the (un)willing passengers on dr. steven t. birchalls mind-trip excelsior, passing through several key lobes of the beyond before zeroing in on the cranial lump responsible for, amongst other things, time itself... ...but dont take my word for it; no less an authority on the xian psych/synth-dude crossroads than graveyard / wolf eye john olson (in response to the oeuvre(s) of mr.s birchall & nik pascal raicevic - more about him in due time) hath decreed: ...unbelievable jaw destroying dude with problems & synths lp that are in their own frozen universe. something about deranged synth damage through the jokey-gimmicky electronics make for a slightly melodic less academic and avant folk real people iron forest jam every more unsettling. done right and done strange and individual these social misfits with cracked circus gear really drive the mad home to trance mediations & rhythmic hammers of swamp glue to truly cracked musics. upon millions of listening,, there is an approach & depth to this that stands more honest & direct than more serious electronic musics. this could be the ramleh & k. mizutanis of the mid 70s? true psychosis. few and far between but the payoff is a lifetime of mutant brain waves. certainly a neglected outsider-electronics classic, once again made audible/tangible, our lives made just that much more worth living by mr. p.c. c.p." - Creel Pone.

Artist: CELLUTRON & THE INVISIBLE
Title: Reflecting On The First Watch, We Uncover Treasure Buried For The Blind
Format: CDR
Label: Creel Pone
Country: USA
Price: $12.00
"originally released in 1978 on the northfield, vermont based green mountain records, cellutron & the invisible is (apparently) the brain-child of one robert s. greely. ive tried my usual sources for more information, but all i get are dead links and references to the lp itself... in my mind, this is right up there with the continuum of weirdo 60s/70s outsider private-press electronic-psych fuh - think intersystems (specifically), spoils of war, nic pascal raicevic, etc... plenty of basement modular-synth spew coupled with chemically-derived outsider poetry and a few flourishes of psych-guitar for the heads. if synth-drippings & zonked guitar/wordplay from a set of northern/deep woods dwelling longhairs doesnt sound like a variant on your ideal thing, well, then ill be a digital readout hum..." - Creel Pone.

Artist: GROSSI, PETER
Title: Computer Music
Format: 2CDR
Label: Creel Pone
Country: USA
Price: $19.00
"so... why is this collection of late 60s / early 70s computerized insanity, presented in essentially the same manner (albeit with much nicer artwork), so damn amazing? in the same way that someone like louis wains later paintings of cats are so damn amazing when compared to those of his fruitful career; he, not unlike grossi here, went through the looking glass and came out the other end with his grand-vision altered beyond recognition..."

Artist: GRUPO EXPERIMENTAL ELECTROACUSTICO
Title: Musikautomatika
Format: CDR
Label: Creel Pone
Country: USA
Price: $11.00
"Heres a first (for Creel Pone at least) - a reproduction of the debut album by this Venezualan electro-acoustic collective, featuring Luis Levin, Alvise Sacchi, and Stefano Gramitto, recorded at some point between the groups inception in 1978 and the release of this lp in 1983. This one flew right in, way below my own radar - ive never heard/seen reference to this ensemble (nor its individual members!) - yet the music inside is yielding some fairly lofty comparisons; namely snatches of 60s-era INA-GRM concrète, electro-acoustic free-improv ensembles such as the other Grup(p)o, and synth-drone mavericks such as Jean-Claude Eloy and even Maurizio Bianchi. The overall wasted/challenged fidelity really drives it home... but whats the most remarkable is how the Grupo shift seemlessly between ??serious? avant-garde signifiers (much ring-modulation of dissonant source material) and almost ??pop? chord-progressions & sentimentalities (think: the kind of melodies evident on the ??Song of the Second Moon? lp.) This sort of sensibility is referred to elsewhere on the web as ??prog moves? (apt, even though that phrase causes me a little bit of dyspepsia every time i read it...). This Creel Pone comes with a reproduction of the hand-written/typed xerox insert, explaning the details of the ensembles modus (in Spanish) with diagrams and sketches (and at least one photo of a Grupo member with an iguana/sprite or two on his shoulders!) again, like ??Iatrogenics? - not the hardcore dark-academia typical of the mid-series Creel Pone, but much closer in spirit to titles such as the Fuzzy/Svend Christiansen &/or the Warren Jepson." - Creel Pone.

Artist: INSIDE OF THE OUTSIDE, THE/OR THE OUTSIDE OF THE INSIDE
Title: Who Are They? Where Do They Come From? Why Are They Here? (Dialogue In Space)
Format: CDR
Label: Creel Pone
Country: USA
Price: $10.00
"after a short beauty res(e)t; creel pone returns borne anew with this pristine nugget, a reproduction of a 1965 self-released serenus-label lp by one george engler, attributed to the inside of the outside /or the outside of the inside. one can glean all sorts of hypochondroid vibes from the title & liners (below) alone, even before the music itself hits your ears; a fine mist of space-age paranoic lo-fi/end rumbles and truly insane, tape-augmented guitar-skrabble: so perfect that... did i not know better (sometimes i wonder if i do) id think this was a hoax... but then again even if it is; someone has gone through a hell of a lot of trouble to concoct something very close to my own definition of the perfect record..." - Creel Pone.

Artist: JEPSON, WARREN
Title: Totentanz
Format: CDR
Label: Creel Pone
Country: USA
Price: $10.00
"..this one that has "nurse with wound list" written all over it; yet - nary a mention in the notes to said 1979 lp and just about anyone anywhere on out on our global interweb... purportedly the score to a 1971 ballet by carlos carvajal, totentanz overwhelms us with its mystery while revealing only the most gratifying collection of sounds from every aspect that the creel pone series has covered thusfar... the a-side piece contains a long section of tape-based concrète; lo-fi pre-industrial thudding, dissonant piano stabs. and much repetition (youll want to crawl inside this bit and never come out...) - this gives way to a great blast of weird-synth patterns that closes out the side... on the flip theres even further mystery layers, which slowly give way to the most amazing bit of terry riley lineage repetitive minimal synth figuring and blasted spring reverb & gated riffing. completely awe-inspiring (with a demonic-looking cover depicting some sort of skeletons-and-ghouls-as-wedding-processional ceremony no less.) easily of the most intruiging creel pones yet..." - Creel Pone.

Artist: KARG, JURGEN
Title: Elektronische Mythen
Format: CDR
Label: Creel Pone
Country: USA
Price: $11.00
"Dark & atonal free-synth concrète & chiming metallic minimalism from one-time Wolfgang Dauner (aka the ??ring-mod jazz? kingpin) sideman Jürgen Karg; two 20+ minute/side-long suites... theres very little jazz-lineage vocabulary herein; much more in common with François Bayles 70s work & that of past Creel Pone candidates Reinhold Weber, Edward Zajda... hell even the krautrock lineage: early Schnitzler, Asmus Tietchens, Seeselberg, etc... yet another ??unheralded classic of electronic music?. -Creel Pone.

Artist: ONO, MATSUO & TAKEHISA KOSUGI
Title: Roots of Electronic Sound
Format: CDR
Label: Creel Pone
Country: USA
Price: $12.00
"heres possibly... ah hell it is the best looking creel pone yet (thanks to an extended spec and much nicer print-stock) - a reproduction of a 1979 victor label reissue of a 1975 lp on the legendary alm label featuring a series of short tape music experiments, recorded between 1963 and 1966 by matsuo ono, with assistance from none other than takehisa kosugi. the artwork and libretto on the lp are full of references to atom (better known to westerners as astro boy), a mid-60s japanese cartoon to which many of these tape-sounds were used as sound effects and incidental music... pretty incredibly given how zonked & explosion-oriented these short pieces are. the whole thing comes across as an earlier, analog version of jean-claude rissets catalogue of computerized sound synthesis (i.e. each cue is announced beforehand by a loud/distorted japanese voice solely in the right/left channel.) as the record progresses, the jabs get longer and longer, until morphing into a suite of fully realized, multi edit-per-second blasts & cosmic drift that rival only the earliest wdr & ina-grm lineage tape-music etudes. one of the key pieces historical japanese electronic music puzzle, entirely fantastic & completely necessary..." - Miramoglu Music.

Artist: PYTHAGORON
Title: S/T
Format: CDR
Label: Creel Pone
Country: USA
Price: $12.00
"reproduction of a rather odd, late 70s upstate new york electronic music for healing lineage lp; credited only to the corporation pythagoron inc. 1977, about whom we know very little (and maybe its best it stays that way...) you are relaxed, lying down in a darkened room - eyes closed, your mind quiets and the sound begins - it pours through like an enveloping shower. the tones gradulally become a familiar place where ethereal images and ideas flicker, then solidify. trusting the experience you let go and the sound seems to dissolve. you couldnt describe this space - yet its deeply familiar, a personal awareness that always was slightly out of reach. gradually it ends - coming back in stages - an experience as varied as your consciousness. any fan of zonked near-cultish exotica, minimal electronics, synth drones, etc... will do their bodies/minds/spirits well to subjugate their inner will(s) via this one..."

Artist: RAICEVIC, NICHOLAS
Title: The Complete Narco Records And Tapes Recordings (1971-1975)
Format: Double CDR
Label: Creel Pone
Country: USA
Price: $18.00
"a reproduction of all four lps originally self-released by nicolas nik pascal raicevic on his narco records and tapes label (rumored to be one of the first truly independent labels...) between 1971 and 1975. the music is nothing short of genius; a fine beaded mist of exceedingly lo-fi (tape drop-outs are prevalent, entire frequency ranges completely excised from certain tracks... not to mention the piss-poor quality of the original pressings) hands-off psychedelic synthesizer fumblings (paralleling only douglas leedys entropical paradise in its seemingly arbitrary rhythms & note-choices) & rudimentary drum-machine / bongo diversions. 1971s beyond the end... eternity consists solely of loose, exploratory moog modular dirges; raicevic is clearly still in the early learning-curve stages... yet by the following years the sixth ear, more complex gated passages & rhythmic activity begins to surface (including a few bits that rival pierre henrys mise en musique corticalart in their sheer monolothic joy...) along with overdubbed bongo jams and a few actual chord progressions... by 1973s magnetic web, raicevic has added an arp 2600 and a few rhythm-boxes (often running a few bpm apart, yielding some rather zonked phase-effects) and hand-percussion (tibetan finger-cymbals) to his arsenal, increasing the levels of raw synth-blat tenfold (more than a few tracks stream sample-and-hold layers throughout.) - in my mind this is his masterpiece. finally, after a year off, nik drops his last album, zero gravity, the side-long title-track working a harmonic-series patch with drizzles of space-dusted echo & miniature alien-tongued white-noise licks, the b-side offering a set of shorter songs... as far as early-mid 70s american bedroom electronic music goes, these lps have to be among the first transmissions from this sector, made all the more attractive when coupled with raicevics alien topography (the covers are high-color portrayals of venusian lanes, knotted growths, & future-past architecture) & copious downer sentiment... this music is imbued with a sort of lonely, anti-social sensibility thats about as far as you can get from the academic early electronic vector. while im not going to blanket-recommend this one for all followers of the creel pone series, i will say that if the steve birchall, cellutron & the invisible, and/or pythagoron replications seed your garden, this will likely do the same..." - Creel Pone. Great to have these classics "available".. Very highly recommended!!

Title: Electronic Music - University Of Melbourne
Format: CDR
Label: Creel Pone
Country: USA
Price: $12.00
"the 6 composers on this disc all put in fine efforts making sense of the intricacies of this then-new technology, with all turning in excellent pieces ranging from the tick-tock krautrock of gary wrights ??impulse? to the kosugi/c. spencer-yeh-ish violin-noise/synthi freakout of chris wyatts ??conversations? to... however the hell one would describe/compare the dense/freaked-out analogue mess of ken guntars ??three mobiles? (okay; ill try... douglas leedys ghost bathed in balvenie 17 year ??very old?, imbibed by akos rozmann - is that esoteric enough for you?) just dripping vintage-era electronic soul out of every orifice... behemoth." - Miramoglu Music

Title: New Zealand Electronic Music
Format: Double CDR
Label: Creel Pone
Country: USA
Price: $16.50
"Originally released in 1975 on the wellington-based kiwi / reed pacific records ltd. label in a deluxe 3lp box (beautifully replicated here; despite conforming to the c.p. ??flat? spec - everything down to the grain of the cardboard is visible!), this set features more or less a side of music each by 6 pre-eminent new zealand electronic composers; douglas lilburn, john rimmer, rolf harris, jack body, ian mcdonald, and john cousins - all composed and executed at the victoria electronic music studios in wellington between 1966 and 1975. This is most certainly the defining artifact of the early new zealand electronic/experimental music scene. absolutely essential if any number of murky drones & scraping improvs pressed into lathe-cut polycarbonate discs that followed in its wake are of interest to you..." - Miramoglu Music

Artist: WHITE, RUTH
Title: Flowers of Evil
Format: CDR
Label: Creel Pone
Country: USA
Price: $12.00
"the setting of a set of poems by charles baudelaire to electronic instrumentation & vocal treatments, as realized by ms. ruth white in mid-1969. baudelaire was heavy, man... ms. whites posessed monotone-through-echoplex-through-vclfo-gate throughout is just bone-chilling, her howling synth & noise backdrops so perfectly capturing the southern essence of the text that its hard to believe that these poems werent conceived in the era they were realized here (the just pre-altamont downer hippie zenith), but in fact in the middle of the 19th century! certainly a creel pone more on the psych-end of things, but nonetheless a bizarre and terrifying vision into futures past-future that should speak to the inner satanist." - Miramoglu Music
