Artist: AMERICAN CLOUD SONGS
Title: Aum
Format: LP
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"Folk artist and American tattooer Robert Ryan turned the holy ones onto their backs with his solo folk roots recording endeavor under the name of American Cloud Songs . Previously getting his ideas in order under his band Harmonize Most High and his conceptual collaborations with artist Daniel Higgs, Ryans understanding of meditative drone coupled with hidden knowledge of the metaphysical plane make American Cloud Songs compositions stand over to the cliff, harmonically in tune with itself, steeped heavily in primitive folk tradition and sacred geometric imagery. Featuring artist contributions by Nathan Bell (Lungfish), Neil OBrien (The Van Pelt) and free jazz legend Danial Carter. Recorded by Alap Momin (Dälek /This Immortal Coil). Limited to 300 copies." - Dais.

Artist: ANNIE ANXIETY
Title: Soul Posession
Format: LP
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"Many influential characters graced the stage of Maxs Kansas City within the creative zeitgeist of New York City during the late 1970s, but one local native named Annie Bandez thrust herself into the downtown scene with her punk ensemble Annie and the Asexuals, establishing her nom de plume Annie Anxiety (later known as “Little Annie”) and colliding head-on with the social norms of contemporary punk culture entangling the city at that time.

After a couple years of disintegrated pursuits in New York, Annie relocated to England, finding herself at the doorstep of the famed anarchro-commune Dial House headed by activist Penny Rimbaud. It was here that Annie Anxiety established herself as a singular artist and voice with her debut 1981 single “Barbed Wire Halo” on seminal Crass Records and forging a creative alliance with Crass members Penny Rimbaud and Eve Libertine. As the landscape of punk in the United Kingdom was shifting towards a more diverse, multicultural focal point, artists such as Annie Anxiety found themselves exploring musical signatures in styles such as dub reggae and rocksteady. In the summer of 1983, Annie began work at Southern Studios on what would be her first full length endeavor which encompassed all of her creative assets at that time. Employing the expertise of legendary dub producer Adrian Sherwood to realize this vision, Annie pulled together members of Crass, Flux of Pink Indians, Family Fodder, African Head Charge, London Underground and Art Interface to record her groundbreaking dub industrial masterpiece. Upon its initial release by the unofficial Crass off-shoot label Corpus Christi in 1984, Soul Possession started the avalanche of activity that would include dozens of releases and collaborations with Nurse With Wound, Coil, Current 93, Swans and Marc Almond.

Dais Records proudly reissues “Soul Possession” on vinyl for the first time in over 30 years in a limited edition pressing featuring the original artwork by Eve Libertine..." - Dais.

Title: Entkopplung
Format: LP
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $18.00
"After releasing their debut LP on Dais in the summer of 2010, Sasha Grey, Ian Cinnamon and Pablo St. Francis grouped together under the banner of aTelecine once again, this time composing the recent soundtrack to the English/German film Entkopplung . The film itself is a highly esoteric science fiction labyrinth in the shape of Phillip K. Dick meets William s Burroughs. “The surreality of certain dreams, or the intense attraction of a perplexity of new impressions in real life.” Recorded and mixed in a marathon four day live to tape session using the mammoth 226 page script and the existing 30 minutes of completed footage as a scoring template, the music is dark, paranoid and claustrophobic echoing the themes in the film. This electronic score should be heard as a separate but yet equal vehicle to the film, an experience the listener shouldn’t worry about it altering the later cinematic encounter. Sonically it’s mission is complex and none vocal, purely enriching the narrative…and melodically creating all the necessary in-between nightmare illustrations. Limited to 1,000 copies on transparent green vinyl." - Dais.

Country: USA
Price: $18.00
300 copies pressed. "10 Years ago, Ian Reads (Fire + Ice) Fremdheit label released two Neofolk/Experimental compilations under the name “The Pact?. The second of these compilations contained an unforgettable track from an Australian outfit called Beastianity. Curious about the band and eager to hear more, we tried to dig up as much information as possible – but very little (if any) information was readily available. We were able to find the band shortly after the creation of Dais in 2007, and are proud to announce, along with Praise Dog Publishing, the first ever vinyl release of Beastianitys first and only album “Root?, originally released in 1999 on CD and in Australia only." - Dais.

Title: Nothing Here Now but the Recordings
Format: LP
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $18.00
"In 1980, Genesis P-Orridge and Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson (then of Throbbing Gristlerenown) travelled to New York City to meet up at the fortified apartment, known as The Bunker, of famed beat writer and cultural pioneer William S. Burroughs and his executor James Grauerholz to starting the daunting task to compile the experimental sounds works of Burroughs, which, up until that point, had never been heard.
During those visits, Burroughs would play back his tape recorder experiments featuring his spoken word “cut-ups”, collaged field recordings from his travels and his flirtations with EVP recording techniques, pioneered by Latvian intellectual Konstantins Raudive. Throughout the next year, P-Orridge, Christopherson and Grauerholz would spent countless hours compiling various edits, each collection showcasing Burroughs sensitive ear and keen experimental prowess for audio anomaly within technical limitations.
By the time 1981 came through, Burroughs had relocated to Lawrence, KS in which to escape the violence and mania of New York City life. It is in Lawrence that P-Orridge and Christopherson put the finishing touches on the record that would be known as “Nothing Here Now but the Recordings”. The album would come out in the Spring of 1981 as the final release for the shuttering Industrial Records, brought about by the dissolution of Throbbing Gristle. The album remained out of print until 1998 when John Giorno and the Giorno Poetry Systems included the album on a multi-disc retrospective CD box set compiling the majority of Burroughs seminal recordings." - Dais.

Title: Time Flowing Backwards
Format: LP
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"Originally released in 1991 on Homestead Records, Time Flowing Backwards, the debut album by New Zealand art rock outfit The Cakekitchen, coupling the entire self-titled EP material released by Flying Nun Records in 1989 along with 6 new songs recorded for the album. Mastered at Abbey Road by Steve Rooke (who would later remaster The Beatles catalog), this debut full length would go on to solidify and promote the growing underground New Zealand rock scene and spawn a generation of devoted followers of Jefferies exceedingly graceful, atmospheric, and poetic songs, led by Jefferies unmistakable commanding baritone voice.

A diverse and inspiring album, “Time Flowing Backwards” has been out of print and difficult to obtain since its original vinyl pressing in 1991. Dais Records is proud to reissue on vinyl in limited edition “Time Flowing Backwords” along with the The CakeKitchens sophomore LP (released the same year) “World of Sand”, in remastered editions of 500 copies making these albums available once again to old fans while introducing these classics to new listeners. Multi-instrumentalist Graeme Jefferies is the given name of the fabled underground counterculture icon hailing from New Zealand, and his mainstay project, The Cakekitchen, has its roots firmly grounded in the pages of 1980s New Zealand garage storybook which featured countless innovative artists, all of which huddled under the umbrella of labels such as Flying Nun Records, Propeller, and Pagan Records. After performing in the revered gothic punk act, Nocturnal Projections, and after the collapse of his previous Flying Nun group, This Kind of Punishment, The Cakekitchen emerged as an amalgamation of gloomy and introspective post-punk and indie, with a stronger focus on structured studio songwriting and thoughtful compositional approach - producing some of the most expressive and unique music to come out of New Zealand during the early 90s.

Underground indie/post-punk for fans of The Chills, Flying Saucer Attack, Velvet Underground, Joy Division, The Clean, The Verlaines, Nick Drake, Felt, Sonic Youth, JPS Experience, Tall Dwarves, etc..." - Dais.

Originally released in 1991 on Homestead Records, “World of Sand” is the second full length album by The Cakekitchen, highlighting the first live line-up of the band featuring the drumming of Robert Key (Expendables / Lanky), and Rachael King (3Ds) on bass. This formation existed for roughly two and a half years and these compositions were considered by many to be the height of the groups creative potential, with musical comparisons to the early material by This Kind of Punishment…pounding piano, maddening viola, numerous tape splices and oddball musical passages – along with several pieces recorded at home on a four track, lending a lo-fi, dark, and intimate feel to the album. Led by Jeffereies distinct baritone voice, the album is layered, complex, and darkly beautiful.

Long sought after by collectors and fans alike, “World of Sand” has been out of print and difficult to obtain since its original pressing in 1991. Dais Records is honored to reissue on vinyl in limited edition “World of Sand” along with the The CakeKitchens first LP (released the same year) “Time Flowing Backwards”, in remastered editions of 500 copies making these albums available once again to old fans while introducing these classics to new listeners.

Country: USA
Price: $15.00
"Cold Showers, a band formed in Los Angeles, CA in 2010, fuses the brash power of the shoegazers with the smoky compulsions of the no-wavers - Cold Showers would fit comfortably within the dusty catalog of Factory Records, if only for an industrial subtlety in terms of electronics and acoustics. A piston-precision rhythm section drives all these loud, crafty pop songs. This is the pervasive pop mode against which Cold Showers cast themselves, but they arent fired in steel to the darkside. Founding members Jonathan Weinberg, Jessie Clavin, Brian Davila, Renee Adams and Chris King, added since, have a lumbering, sometimes terrifying beast of a band - wed be remiss not to follow its caustic, addictive trek." - Dais.

Country: USA
Price: $18.00
"The most recent installment of the rare & unheard archival recordings from the transgressive 70s performance art group COUM Transmissions. Founded in late 1969 by Genesis P-Orridge, COUM Transmissions’s provocative performances mixed with visual art solidified the group as one of the most forward thinking breakthroughs within the 70s conceptual art scene. Only in the past couple years has COUM’s recorded works seen the light of day. This release collects various selections spanning the years 1971 through 1975, including a rare live performance opening for Hawkwind, lost radio interview, obtuse poetry readings by early member Fizzey Peat, piano & violin compositions by Genesis P-Orridge and insightful field recordings. Limited to 1,000 vinyl copies." - Dais.

Price: $20.00
"This installment in the COUM story entitled Sugarmorphoses was recorded in 1974 by Genesis P-Orridge within the COUM headquarters, joyfully known as the Ho Ho Funhouse, and is one of the most far-flung, experimental recordings related to COUM. This recording consists of Genesiss candid kitchen recordings of solo broken piano improvisations accompanied by P-Orridges own reel to reel experiments using old tape dating back to 1965, from which a young Neil Megson made countless field recordings and homework dictations. Playful, chaotic, imaginative, and historic. Limited to 1000." - Dais.

Artist: DEVIATION SOCIAL
Title: From End To Beginning Vol. 1: Compilation Tracks 1982-1984
Format: LP
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $18.00
"Started in the ashes of the post-industrial scene of San Francisco and continuing onwards until his final performance in 1986, Deviation Social became a obscure cult phenomenon to followers of industrial tape culture of the 1980s. Only self releasing his recordings through his Ppresence label, the Deviation Social output was limited to a handful of tapes (some being less than 20 copies) and one sole 7", all of which fetch $$$ through collectors markets today. This limited release on Dais collects all of Deviation Socials contributions to experimental/noise/industrial cassette compilations throughout the early 80s on such notable labels as Vita Nova, Aeon, Beyond The Pale, and Another Room. Primitive, raw, and powerful....Deviation Social drew on influences & contemporaries such as Throbbing Gristle, SPK and Leather Nun but fused a experimental approach of musique concrete and crude experimentation using analog synthesizers, hollowed drum machines and tribal instruments allowing him to sporadically, at will, create some of the most interesting and unabashed industrial recordings the genre has created. Limited to 500 copies and includes a 8-page LP booklet with original linear notes by Deviation Social and archival zine interviews republished for the first time since their publication." - Dais. Title: practices/demo. june-oct.81
Format:
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"During the summer of 1981, a young Art Injeyan attended the now infamous “final transmission” of Throbbing Gristle in San Francisco’s Kezar Pavillion. This concert experience forever changed the fabric of bay area experimental music and sent a sonic riptide through artists such as Injeyan to form their own experimental projects. After this seed had been planted, Injeyan started pulling together a crude, loose arrangement of musical equipment and creating pulsating industrial drones and noise rhythms under his newly coined masthead Deviation Social. Starting in June and wrapping up in October of 1981, Deviation Social had composed his first demo comprised of individual staged practices in his home. To release his demo and later audio / visual works , he founded his own label, Ppresense Records, to release all matters connected to Deviation Social. This demo was only distributed to a select few and limited to a hand-numbered edition of 25 cassettes in late 1981, now making it one of the more rare and sought after early industrial documents.
Dais is proud to reissue this demo in a vinyl format in a limited edition of 250 copies. Hand stamped, numbered and assembled to give homage to the original release and to celebrate the release series between Dais Records and Deviation Social." - Dais.

Title: Tempus/Deathwatch “From End to Beginning” Vol. 2
Format: LP
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $18.00
"One-man industrial outfit, Deviation Social left a scar on the face of the American 80s experimental/noise scene that has mysteriously been left to legend and rumor. Dais previously released the first authorized reissue of Deviation Socials compilation tracks dating back from the early 80s. Here within, Volume 2 compiles the two proper “studio” releases of Deviation Socials checkered past. The destructive Tempus Purgatio Part 7 single and 1982 album cassette Workforce/Deathwatch are finally collected and reissued as a single LP in a edition of 500 with zine booklet with writings and archival images from Deviation Social." - Dais.

Artist: DILLOWAY, AARON
Title: The Gag File (Blue Vinyl)
Format: LP
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $18.00
Edition of 400 on blue vinyl. "Hundreds of releases and countless live performances littered the path that lead to 2012s Modern Jester, artist Aaron Dilloways last major artistic statement as a solo artist and one his most well received documents since leaving Wolf Eyes, the prolific noise troupe that Dilloway co-founded in the late 90s with musician Nate Young. Within these pieces, we find a surreal treasure hunt that helps guide us through Dilloways obsessions, neurosis and influences while also developing a splintered maturity of someone with great complexity stumbling through a well thought out, yet totally unplanned “long game” of an artistic career. Since then, Dilloway has been busy collaborating with the likes of Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and Jason Lescalleet, releasing various short form sketches and running his retail outpost, Hanson Records, while slowly working on his next major album, The Gag File.

Introducing itself with the cover image of a posed dummy ready for his yearbook portraiture, The Gag File pick up right where Modern Jester left off; its identity is directly tied to an absurdly uncomfortable head shot that stays permanently fixed in the listeners mind whenever the album is summoned. The opening track, “Ghost”, sets the heartbeat for the record. A rogue pulse that becomes lost in a disjointed, trapdoor loop but becomes even more unorthodox as Dilloway introduces himself through parable of jumbled, confused vocals and phrasing. Past this point, nothing in this record is typical or expected. Sudden, crude cuts from one piece to another and psychotic jumps in fidelity make one rethink the ideas of confusion and desperation as something more abstract rather than visceral. “Karaoke with Cal” and “Its Not Alright” have an intoxicated sense of depression, taking in the worlds problems and regurgitating them back in hopes of finding some enjoyment. That enjoyment seems to be found in the non-music aspect of side Bs long form party field recording, that loops in on itself making sure you never really know when the party begins or ends, regardless of one partygoers claim.

Nods to Dilloways recent live performances have been unusually captured as the song “Inhuman Form Reflected” doubles as a sound portrait of the artists internal struggle with hysteria, but suddenly breaks away from a recorded song into an accidental segue way of someone on the edge. Most hallmarks of Dilloways signature are seemingly here but not firmly imprinted into the recording. Instead, Dilloway used his methods of vocal manipulation and frenzied reference to tell a completely foreign narrative, one that subjects himself to naked uncertainty, audible anxiety and discourse." - Dais.

Format: LP
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $22.00
"The legendary and never before heard 1968 recordings of Genesis P-Orridge and friends, transfered and mastered from the ORIGINAL tape, sounding better than the actual first (and only) pressed acetate from the Porridge With Everything Archives. Recorded in a roofspace attic during the summer of 1968 by Genesis P-Orridge and friends, and later pressed to a SINGLE acetate in 1969, this recording is probably the most documented (yet never heard) missing piece of musical history in the legacy of COUM Transmissions, Throbbing Gristle, and Psychic TV. We are proud to announce this as our first release, remastered and preserved in a limited vinyl pressing, with liner notes written by Genesis he/r-self." - DAIS. "In 1965, while attending Hull University,[verification needed] Neil subsumed himself into the character of Genesis P-Orridge. He used the name for his first pressed recording, "Early Worm" in 1968 (of which only one copy was pressed), and legally changed his name in 1971. The follow-up to this album of improvisation on homemade instruments, "Catching the Bird" was never released. At this point, the Megson family was living in Solihull, a prosperous town near Birmingham. The attic of the house on Links Drive was not only P-Orridges den but his first sound studio, where "Early Worm" was recorded. According to Genesis P-Orridge, Deroy Sound, the lab where "Early Worm" was pressed, also pressed speeches of Adolf Hitler for serial killer Ian Brady, recorded from radio and television by Brady.[citation needed] The Throbbing Gristle song Very Friendly is about Brady and his partner-in-crime Myra Hindley." -Wikipedia. Artist: FIRST, DAVID
Title: Electronic Works 1976-1977
Format: LP
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $18.00
"When people associate composer David First with his musical resume, anyone goes straight to his late 70s avant punk band, The Notekillers and their influential 1980 single The Zipper. Prior to his time in the basements of Philadelphia, he had already played in Cecil Taylor’s ensemble and after the Notekillers broke up he moved to New York City in the early 80s, taking root in the downtown NYC avant garde scene. It was there that First honed his craft for experimental composition and ambient drone which still continues to the present day.
Though this narrative made sense, there was a piece missing in the puzzle of First’s musical background. In 1976, two years after playing with Taylor and the year before starting the Notekillers, he enrolled in a class in electronic music at Princeton in the department headed at the time by legendary electronic composer Milton Babbitt.
During his time at Princeton, First was introduced to the classical electronic music studio there, a lonely outpost of the famed Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center which housed one of the very first Buchla 100 series systems acquired by Vladimir Ussachevsky & Otto Luening.
Unfortunately, due to the introduction of digital technology within the music world, this system was left to languish in the studio unattended and nearly forgotten. First fell in love with this equipment and seized the opportunity to compose using the Buchla 100 synthesizer, at first experimenting only with electronic synthesis but later adding in his signature guitar stylings to make these compositions unique to the academic output typical of university music.
Thankfully, these compositions were recorded by First at Princeton on various reel to reel tapes and stored away for over 35 years. It wasn’t until the summer of 2012, when David First and Ryan Martin (of Dais Records) decided to revisit and transfer these reels to compile an album presented here as a selection of genuine, uninhibited exploration into modular electronic synthesis. Limited to an edition of 500 copies with liner notes by David First." - Dais.

Artist: HUNTING LODGE
Title: Will
Format: LP
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"During some brief encounters in 1981 behind the counter at Full Moon Records in Port Huron, Michigan, record store clerk (and member of local “industrial” band Hate/Grey) Lon Diehl started receiving tapes of self-made amp-noise, feedback and field recordings adorned with disturbing medical images entitled “Screw Machine” from regular customer Richard Skott. Instantly, Diehl and Skott struck up a friendship over their appreciation of Throbbing Gristle, SPK and Dome. During this time, Diehl was producing the music fanzine “Smarm”, but due to the sudden change of artistic direction and collaboration, both Diehl and Skott started a new imprint which would become the legendary S/M Operations, home to their new experimental/ industrial project Hunting Lodge.
Hunting Lodges initial foray into musical performance during the Summer of 1982 involved both members to enlist the assistance of Karl Nordstrom, while Nordstroms brother Thomas aided the band in their visual art realizations. Soon after, Hunting Lodge played their first show on September 9, 1982 at the now infamous Harrington Ballroom in Port Huron which was released as a private edition cassette that same year. After this performance, Hunting Lodge recorded their much-coveted “23 Minutes of Murder” cassette, though soon thereafter Karl Nordstrom left the band, leaving the line up to consist of the original core two members.
Upon the request of Andreas Muller of the German label Datenverarbeitung to record extra material for the Exhumed cassette, Hunting Lodge started to regularly record material and in the coming months would pull together tracks that would become their first full-length album entitled “Will”. Drawing references from Crowley, Nietzsche and G. Gordon Liddy, Hunting Lodge collaged together industrial percussion patterns, live recordings, early sketches and synthesized noise into nine compositions which also included vocal appearances by Andreas Muller, Francisco Lopez and Masami Akita a.k.a. Merzbow. The final product would serve as a blueprint for later generations of industrial noise music and plant the influential seed for the years later Michigan noise output.
Dais Records is proud to release the official vinyl reissue of Hunting Lodge “”Will”. Fully remastered to its original sonic standards by Michael Rozon." - Dais.

With an average age of 17, this Copenhagen quartet has somehow managed to redefine our perception entirely, and we love it. Uncontrived, pure – this record is a youthful assault of downer no-wave hardcore, wise beyond its years. Dais is proud to unveil Iceage here in the States with our special limited edition LP of their first album “New Brigade”. Our version contains two exclusive bonus tracks, and comes with a 4-page foldout lyric and photo insert, in a hand-numbered thick stock matte sleeve with gloss overlaid artwork." - Dais. 200 copies on red vinyl.

"This an absolute time capsule of blasphemous American Black Metal, a collection of the only material (two demo cassettes) ever recorded by Louisville, Kentuckys LORD FOUL between 1993 and 1994, whos only member "ROACH" played and recorded every instrument. Title: Sleeping and Hiding
Format: LP
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"This is a very special release for us, having admired Tors artwork and music since first hearing him over a decade ago! Originally recorded in 2005 and intended as the third and final chapter in the series which included the beautiful albums "Last Light" and "Empty City", Dais Records is proud to release the latest album from Ghost Ambient composer Tor Lundvall: "Sleeping and Hiding". Dark and beautiful soundtracks for afternoon daydreams and moonlit forest walks. Limited to 500 hand numbered editions." - Dais. "Sleeping And Hiding (or two things Im very good at) was recorded in what seemed like the blink of an eye during the Spring of 2005 and then shelved while I concentrated on other projects. I originally intended this album to be the third and final chapter in the series which also included "Last Light" and "Empty City". Listening to it now, however, I feel this album stands alone in its own unique space. Musically, its an enitrely vocal effort and somewhat more song oriented than my previous releases. Several of the tracks were inspired by evening drives through the woods, watching the copper-pink sunlight reflecting off bright yellow-green blossoms. Other tracks were inspired by specific events, such as Falling Trees which was recorded after my next door neighbor cut down all of the oaks in her backyard, forever changing the view from my porch. The Dead Period is a personal favorite which describes a space I still find myself falling into. The final track Sleeping manages to conjure up the precise atmosphere of one of my earliest childhood memories: Lying in bed during a bright afternoon as the strange sounds outside lulled me to sleep." -Tor Lundvall

Title: The Shipyard
Format: LP
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"Tor Lundvall has graced us with yet another remarkable album this year. Previously, Lundvall had introduced himself to Dais with his masterpiece album Sleeping & Hiding and struck lightning twice with the resilient The Seasons Unfold box set and now we are humbled to be crafting the strings with the curation of his most recent effort. The Shipyard was recorded during the dramatic season change-over of 09/10, during which time Lundvall was immersing himself in portrait studies of local maritime themes and nautical life at the docks. This instrumental collection of songs composed the soundtrack to the final renderings of these conceptional ideas put side by side, for which semblance he is most know for. Limited to 500 hand numbered vinyl copies (comes with a free MP3 download coupon) with artwork by Tor Lundvall." -Dais.
"In the Autumn of 1990, I documented a handful of spontaneous audio experiments on a portable tape recorder. One of these pieces was a quiet instrumental entitled In a Shipyard. I worked on a few variations over the following months and then I put the track to rest, hoping to expand on the idea at some point in the future. Almost 20 years later, I finally started recording an album based on the themes and images this old track evoked.
The Shipyard in Winter was the first new recording to take shape. This track was constructed around the soft, mechanical loop I used in my original demos. I then altered the loop to construct The Shipyard at Dawn and The Shipyard at Night, both of which appear on the album. The Shipyard in Winter and another out-take entitled Safety in Grey were released on the Tursa compilation “With Friends Like These” in 2010.
The nautical and industrial sounds on the album were created from scratch and come from some surprising sources. The distant, sluggish melody on Under Snow Conditions is actually a slowed down fragment of distorted piano from Blankets of Snow (an out-take from the “Ice” sessions). The two final tracks, Blue Rain Ships and Grey Rain Ships, were constructed by running randomly overlapping tape loops from my archives, so there is an element of chance in these pieces.
“The Shipyard” is my first entirely instrumental album since “Empty City”. Like that previous album, the recordings continue to explore my fascination with man made structures interacting with their natural surroundings. The music has a strong sense of place and it recalls the atmospheres and landscapes I had hoped to capture so many years ago." -Tor Lundvall

Artist: MISSING FOUNDATION
Title: 1933 Your House Is Mine
Format: LP
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"The cacophonic dischord of Missing Foundation and the prophetic vision of Peter Missing culminated into a follow up album following their legendary self-titled debut which was collected under the banner as 1933 Your House Is Mine. This sophomore effort was brought about in 1988 as a means to educate the forgotten and venerate their followers using brash performance tactics and industrial rhythm to rally their cause. An industrial soundtrack of urban protest, Missing Foundation found their voice, garnishing attention from the mainstream as well as being lauded by underground. The cultural divide had been marked with Missing Foundations flipping martini glass signature declaring that the party was over. After being out of print for almost 25 years, Dais has reissued this legendary recording in a limited edition of 500 copies." - Dais.

"In the 1980s, New York City was a dismal wasteland filled with urban decay and creative miracles. It was only a matter of time before the suits saw an investment opportunity, with cash in hand they bought off NYC and started the criminal gentrification of downtown New York, sterilizing any sense of culture and fumigating all residents deemed financially worthless. This kind of invasion brought the perfect storm in the form of Missing Foundation. Founded by Peter Missing in the early 80s, Missing Foundation and their “Partys Over” logo challenged the governing trends of NYC, pouring gasoline on the tinderbox of the class war taking place on the city streets. Known for their hostile and fiery performances (and infamous ban from CBGBs in the late 80s), Missing Foundation left a scorched mark behind and started a movement still felt in the underground community today. Their debut album was originally released on Purge/Sound in 1987 and now Dais is honored to being reissuing this masterpiece of industrial folklore to a new generation who forgot where it started. Countless thanks to Erik Proft and Bill Cashman for all their help in making this happen. Limited to 500 copies." - Dais.

Artist: P-ORRIDGE, GENESIS & STAN BINGO
Title: Whats History
Format: LP
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $22.00
"Originally released as a cassette on the cryptic Austrian tape label, Nekrophile, in 1983, this simplistic experimental recording was a industrial classic ahead of its time.  Recorded in 1981 in the Hackney bedroom of Genesis P-Orridge, who at this point was romping through his final months in seminal industrial act Throbbing Gristle. Done as a spur of the improvisational moment, Genesis was accompanied by then TG documentarian Stan Bingo (a.k.a. director Dan Landin) to try out some new equipment and spun into a unplanned composition.  This original recording, due to the scarcity of its original format was somewhat forgotten, only to be coveted by collectors.  This vinyl LP is an authorized reissue by both artists and limited to 500 copies." -Dais.

His sculpture, video and painting has been exhibited internationally at venues including the Tate London and the Museum of Modern Art, while gracing the cover of Art Forum last year, as well as countless other publications. Price has been working in sound and music for number of years; though most recordings were controlled under hyper-limited releases through select galleries worldwide. This special reissue LP release gathers and remasters tracks recorded between 2000 and 2002 and originally released on a limited edition CD through the Reena Spaulings Art Gallery, collected under the title of “Army Jacket”. Format: Double 7"
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $14.00
"Recorded within the bleak transitional period immediately prior to the sessions that would now become known as Bermuda Drain, Dominick Fernow sketched out four compositions which can only be framed as “ambient power electronics”. Some of Fernows most destitute works to date, this release captures Prurient at its most vulnerable and sedate, reflective and rapt. Compositions that throw away that past decade of experience, only to start at the foundation of his art. Uniquely different from anything previous by Prurient and never to be repeated. Original exclusive cover art collage by artist Genesis Breyer P-Orridge. Limited to 500 copies." - Dais.

Artist: SIGHTINGS
Title: Amusers and Puzzlers
Format: LP
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"After the release of their well-received ninth studio album, Terribly Well, and their successful month long European tour in 2013, Sightings did the unexpected and quietly disbanded without notice or explanation. More than 15 years in the trenches and making a mess throughout New York City, the band made more of a polarizing impact to formalized underground music that most of their peers. Sightings would have been a national treasure if the whole country was laid to waste in Armageddon.

During the sessions that birthed Terribly Well, a complimentary album was recorded in tandem which, while not intended to be their final statement, produced the jaded epilogue from the mouth of experimental rocks most lasting monolith. Amusers and Puzzlers is the schizophrenic culmination of their brand of damaged rock. Isolated noise patterns shifted from Mark Morgans unorthodox guitar patterns sewn up from his nervous, scattered vocal phrasing. Richard Hoffmans stampede-like momentum on bass slammed against Jon Lockies drum triggers made the past couple decades crash into itself. Limited to 500 copies with cover art/design by Bill Nace (Body/Head) and comes with a MP3 download card." - Dais.

"The noise rock parade that defies definition, set out on a mission of pure volume worship that is the post-decade pilgrimage of NY-based Sightings. After eight instinctive albums, the Sightings guys show no mercy with endless annihilation of their newest material on Terribly Well. All parts destruction measured against their abrasive songwriting. Jagged, collapsing rhythm based mayhem, guitars that can be mistaken for a freight train being ripped for scrap metal, only to be held together with panic stricken bass patterns that keep their voice from the edge of insanity. An accessible album for the unacceptable; their finest record to date. Each song saws through the humanity, taking no hostages with this hectic industrial rock masterpiece. Edition of 500. Includes download code." -Dais.

Artist: SPAHN RANCH
Title: Back To The Wood
Format: LP
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"Somewhere in the dusky afterglow of the 80s Detroit underground, Brad Horowitz and Odell Nails stumble into the live show of local post-punk outfit Grief Factory, fronted by the enigmatic singer Bob Sterner. Unbeknownst to these three players, this encounter would lay the groundwork for the formation of one of Detroits most preeminent musical secrets, Spahn Ranch.

Blending the moody goth minimalism of their art-punk predecessors with the unique lo-fi drone intuition that had forsaken most hardcore punk audiences, Spahn Ranch became a staple curiosity in Detroit, opening for one of Jesus & Mary Chains first North American shows, and always searching for their place within the 80s underground circuit. In 1986, the bands singular album output entitled “Thickly Settled” was released on Insight Records run by kindred spirit Eric Cope...the front man of seminal 80s post-punk outfit Glorious Din and publisher of the likeminded fanzine Wiring Dept. After the albums initial release, Spahn Ranch would take on bassist Hobey Echlin and perform alongside countless luminaries such as Killing Joke, Swans and Psychic TV.

Once the decade came to a dramatic close, Spahn Ranchs brief touring stints would wind down to a halt and their ranks dispersed into the various avenues of adult life, taking with it the memories and experiences of its reserved members. Sadly, the year 2008 brought with it the passing of singer Bob Sterner, leaving the legacy of Spahn Ranch to its surviving cast. 30 years after the creation of “Thickly Settled,” Dais Records releases this recent compendium of the bands work, which celebrates their impact and reinterprets their output for a current audience. “Back to the Wood” is a collection of previously unreleased studio recordings, cassette rarities and select tracks from the long out of print “Thickly Settled” LP, all remastered and supervised by Odell Nails and Brad Horowitz with exclusive liner notes from now rock music journalist Hobey Echlin, along with rare photos and other ephemera, released digitally and in a limited edition of 100 copies on yellow vinyl and 400 standard black vinyl." - Dais.

Artist: TAZARTES, GHEDALIA
Title: Diasporas
Format: LP
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"Originally recorded in 1977 with a limited pressing in 1979 on the underground French label Cobalt, Ghédalia Tazartès debut album, Diasporas, quietly fell into the catacombs of avant-garde obscurity.  Tazartès himself, (a strange, nomadic character) played upon myths and legends about his existence and sounds – making him somewhat of a lost legend, trapped between a modern time and a surreal, simple age.  Inclusion of Diasporas on Steve Stapletons famed “Nurse With Wound List” only added fuel to the fire of this legendary album.  Traditional Parisian folk, frightening tape loops, and gypsy incantations …. Truly one of the most fascinating and mysterious albums ever created. Remastered from the original source tapes from Ghédalia Tazartès, an official reissue LP limited to 500 hand-numbered copies." - Dais.

Artist: TURMAN, ROBERT
Title: Way Down
Format: LP
Label: Dais
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"Originally released as a small run cassette in 1987, only to fall into tape label obscurity, Robert Turmans industrial genre-bending masterpiece album Way Down finally has been excavated for a proper vinyl reissue after twenty-three years in the shadows. This album solidifies Turman as a cut above the rest with respect to his talent and his natural ear for experimental composition. Turman first came onto the industrial scene in the late 70s as the ominous other half of legendary noise outfit NON, alongside Boyd Rice, together releasing the now classic first NON single, Mode of Infection/Knife Ladder 7″ in 1977. After parting ways, Turman went on an excursion of self-released cassettes to which he fused every possible influence at his disposal, culling together past habits of experimental know-how and going forward into uncharted terrain. After his previous experimental efforts included on his Flux release in 1981, and even later in the prolific Chapter Eleven boxset, Turman turned the tables with the creation of Way Down, using synthesizer arrangements and drum machines alongside guitar solos, piano chords, tape loops and primitive sampling to create a whole new concoction of dance-like minimal synth blended together with the industrial darkwave noise he was mostly known for. After almost vanishing from the music scene, Turman resurfaced in 2005, teaming up with seminal noise musician Aaron Dilloway to not only reissue previous recordings, but to record and perform once again with new releases out on Hanson and Medusa. This vinyl reissue of Way Down serves as the blueprint of what Turman sought to render as a very accessible minimal synth/industrial album, yet keeping it just obtuse enough to make it one of the most brilliant and engaging albums to be ushered into the canon of 80s experimental culture. Numbered, limited edition of 500. Includes a glossy insert with new notes by Turman." -Dais
