Artist: HALL, GP
Title: Industrial Blue
Format: LP
Label: Lullabies For Insomniacs
Country: Netherlands
Price: $22.00
180g vinyl. Edition of 300. Includes download code. "This Spring we are pleased to be releasing a collection of works from British musician GP Hall, recorded between 1994 and 1999. For over four decades, guitar in hand Hall encountered many styles; jazz, blues, flamenco, rock, folk, and classical improvisation. All contributed to the creation of his unique style. Emerging from the British blues boom of the 1960s, he then followed a long and winding path through various scenes and cultures. In Spain, he was Influenced by flamenco master Manitas Del Plata before touring Europe with Liverpool band Casey Jones & the Governors. He was commissioned three times (twice by The Arts Council of Great Britain) for original music and was immersed in the avant-garde scene of the 1970s as an improviser, a pioneer of electric flamenco and a composer of large-scale ensemble pieces. During the 1980s Hall turned his focus to soundtrack music before reinventing himself as the solo performer he is today. With this strong foundation he branched into a tactile expression of his craft, discovering a new style which he called industrial sound sculptures. These sonic compositions are performed on electric and acoustic guitars as well as the six-string bass and are played with various techniques and implements including slides, battery fans, the psaltery bow, razors, toys, Velcro and crocodile clips which are fed through sound processors to create a rich sonic environment." - Lullabies For Insomniacs.

He invites one to listen with a sense of intimacy and introspection, reflecting on the extremes of subtlety." - Lullabies For Insomniacs.

Artist: LIFE GARDEN
Title: Songs from the Other Side of Emptiness
Format: LP + 7"
Label: Lullabies For Insomniacs
Country: Netherlands
Price: $22.00
Includes digital streaming code. "Life Garden was formed in Phoenix, Arizona during the fall of 1989 by George Dillon, Su Ling and W. David Oliphant. The group was the reinvention of post-industrial band Maybe Mental (1982-1987) and delved into an ineffable territory; where language failed, their music found root. Life Gardens sound focused on creating a space that would transcend people to a world of beauty, intensity and mystery. Each release was loosely guided by one member, Caught between the Tapestry of Silence and Beauty (1991) was focused towards the poetry and vocals of George Dillon who sadly passed away after the completion of the album. During this period LG began to shift from using synths and samplers to an all acoustic approach. Over several months Su Ling and David developed a unique improvisational style using digital multi-effects and loopers to process Sus vocals and a variety of percussion, string and wind instruments. This became the foundation of the LG sound and is heard thoughout Songs from the other Side of Emptiness.

The LP + 7inch includes music from the following bodies of work- Worlds Whirl Beneath The Sun Volume 1 (1990), Pry Open My Mouth With The Red Knife Of Heaven (1992) Seed (1993) and Ahitanaman (1995)." - Lullabies For Insomniacs.

Artist: MILLION BRAZILIANS
Title: Red Rose And Obsidian
Format: LP
Label: Lullabies For Insomniacs
Country: Netherlands
Price: $28.00
"Million Brazilians formed in Portland, Oregon in 2006. Founding members Grant Corum and Suzanne Stone have been central to the band since its inception, while a rotating line-up backs them depending on the latest vision for the sound. The band carry out their own interpretation of a genre bending ethos that has evolved throughout the American underground. Drifting between boundless compositions, focused energetic improvisations and experimental collaborations that embrace a weird sort of transcendence. Their next installment Red Rose And Obsidian was recorded in Maine and engineered by Big Bloods Caleb Mulkerin. Both he and the band deliver a powerful yet fragile and personal release. The mythical and evocative recordings are inspired by Maines rugged coastlines; mournful ripples of sound wash up on the shore, whilst a lonesome, at times harrowing saxophone drifts through the rolling mountains, providing unsettling melodic interludes. Electronic treatments veil organic sounds, a fleeting whistle meets spontaneously with spacey flutes, mutated rock rhythms are topped off with the soaring vocals of Suzanne Stone who leads the listeners into the magical world of the Million Brazilians." - Lullabies For Insomniacs.

Artist: SUGIBAYASHI, YASUO
Title: The Mask Of The Imperial Family
Format: LP
Label: Lullabies For Insomniacs
Country: Netherlands
Price: $27.00
180g vinyl. Includes digital streaming code. "Lullabies For Insomniacs is pleased to present Yasuo Sugibayashi and The Mask Of The Imperial Family; a compilation of music from Mimic Records 1980-1982. Digital download includes 3 bonus tracks.

Yasuo began his musical journey playing guitar in a high school band, in 1980 after moving to Tokyo and immersing himself in various musical groups he founded Mimic Records. Inspired heavily by the art movements of the late 1970s, in particular the innovations of Brian Eno and David Cunningham he purchased a Roland System 100M. He was in search of a sound and the synthesizer had great potential. Simultaneously he had started experimenting with tape, playing with the tactility of the medium so he could understand how to best adapt it for his pieces.
Yasuo explored ancient ethnic music and wanted to combine his influences with daily experiences of city life. The short lived Mimic records was home to three of his solo releases, a self titled LP and two 7 inches, shortly after this period Yasuo went on to pursue other musical projects, in 1985 he was a founding member of the band Qujila which is still active today." - Lullabies For Insomniacs.

"Both profound and profoundly jaw dropping, the esoteric moves of this massively rare and insanely obscure 300 copy Japanese marvel have until now remained the sole preserve of a handful of heavyweight collectors. Its time to let the cat out of the bag on this one. The dankly cavernous and unsettling acid maneuvers of Dome circa their first three LPs (though absent vocals) are the nearest antecedent I can summon for the principal thrust of the sound here. So too, theres a ritualistic dimension to this stuff thats also a bit suggestive of something like Vasilisk or The Hybryds, though the arcane initiatory atmosphere here is far more penetrating that anything Ive heard either of those two muster. Combine that with a Johan Hedran-like overlay of wafting, heat-warped systemic electronics and your at least in the general neighborhood, but these are only indicators pointing toward the occult sonic universe that The Mask Of The Imperial Family are enacting..." -Mutant Sounds.

Artist: TAROTPLANE
Title: 358 Oblique
Format: LP
Label: Lullabies For Insomniacs
Country: Netherlands
Price: $28.00
"Baltimores PJ Dorsey has traversed a lifelong journey delving into psychoactive music which can alter ones cognitive and conscious state. He harnesses his experiences to create music as Tarotplane. Using guitar, effects, and processing, he produces time suspending soundscapes -- immersive music for merging the mind and body. 358 Oblique is the follow-up to First which was released on Aguirre Records in 2015 (ZORN 041LP). Find yourself adrift in the lapping waters of a slow unraveling sea of sound, a spectral vortex of shimmering tones and discrete samples guide the listener into an aural abyss, while plangent six-string melodies offer glimpses into a sanctifying sensory space. The two explorations provide an evocative journey through a psychedelic continuum and beyond. Track titles courtesy of Edward Ka-Spel (Legendary Pink Dots). Recorded between 2014-2017. Assembled at Grey Ark Studios/Wrightway Studios, Baltimore; Additional production on "A Polaroid Sunset" by Rob Girardi; Keyboard/sound processing on "A Polaroid Sunset" by Jack Moore; Audio consultant: Jack Moore." - Lullabies For Insomniacs.
