Artist: BERRESHEIM, TIM & JONATHAN MEESE
Title: Die Christmaskameraden: Christmas Time/You are Father Christmas. Accept it
Format: 7"
Label: Meeuw Muzak
Country: Belgium
Price: $6.50
"The label with the strongest tradition in releasing Christmas 7"s is no doubt Meeuw Muzak. Not because he likes Christmas very much, but he likes to sit at home and play his releases during that day. Die Christmaskameraden are Jonathan Meese and Tim Berresheim, both well-known visual artists from Germany. Meese has a wide fascination for anything from Wagner to Stalin, and Ezra Pound to Rasputin. On this 7" they play synth, glockenspiel and sing about father christmas and even have a sort of disco rhythm on the second side, which could be seen as the extended dance remix. We are father Christmas, you are father Christmas they sing. After the RLW and Tietchens, this is certainly much more weirder and way-out then those and is a most curious record indeed. Play this for your family on boxing day and disapproval will be your share." - Vital Weekly.

Artist: BOOMBASTIK, MARK
Title: Plastic Lieb/ Hoffnung
Format: 7"
Label: Meeuw Muzak
Country: Netherlands
Price: $7.00
"Its been a while since we last heard a new 7" by Meeuw Muzak, but then here a brand new 7" by Mark Boombastik, who already released I Hate Art Galleries on the same label, as well as material for other labels, such Solotempo, Lou Records, Gagarin Records, Tomlab etc. His background is in the field of hip hop, so hes probably better known in other, non Vital areas. He has worked with Patric Catani (Candie Hank), Funkstoerung, Felix Kubin and such alike. The music is not really hip hop like (as far as I can judge, not being fully known with the genre), but Boombastik uses a stomping rhythm, deep bass sound, something that sounds like a theremin and German vocals, which sing about our love for plastic. Quite biting the a-side, maybe even a political edge to it. The b-side is a looped voice duet between where is my hope and where is my fear, along with fucked up rhythm backing. Quite chilling this one. Great labels here too: based on the energy chocolate which keeps drivers awake." - Vital Weekly.

Artist: HEMATIC SUNSETS & OKKO BEKKER
Title: Weihnachten Im Aroma Club
Format: 7"

Country: Netherlands

Artist: JACK THE RAPPER
Title: Dutroux Rap
Format: 7"
Label: Meeuw Muzak
Country: Netherlands
Price: $6.00
"Marc Dutroux is one of the most notorious criminals in Belgian history. He was convicted of having kidnapped, tortured and sexually abused six girls, ranging in age from 8 to 19, four of whom died as a result. He was also convicted of having killed a suspected former accomplice. He was arrested in 1996. His widely publicized trial took place in 2004. A number of shortcomings in the Dutroux investigation caused widespread discontent in Belgium with the countrys criminal justice system. Dutroux is considered one of Europes worst serial killers. Dutroux Rap is Jack The Rappers acerbic view on the Belgian state and its foul state." - Meeuw Muzak

Artist: JAILHOUSE
Title: Christmas Day
Format: 7"
Label: Meeuw Muzak
Country: Netherlands
Price: $6.00

Artist: KUBIN, FELIX
Title: Antarktis Slow Rock
Format: 7"
Label: Meeuw Muzak
Country: Netherlands
Price: $6.50
"This was the first release, in 1997 by a man named Felix Kubin, before stepping into the world of fame. So riding on this fame its been re-issued with a new mix of the original b-side. The a-side is indeed a slow, rock-rhythm box pieces, with nicely humming organ lines, a sweet little melody. A quasi eastern-Europe feel comes to live in the form of wind blowing over the tundra. And tundras shaking ahead on the flipside, via a casio rhythm and a more up-tempo song. Here to similar eastern Europe feelings float by, in what is a very joyful and up-tempo song. Great to have it back in print." - Vital Weekly.

"The Pitchshifters is Hideto Aso from Tokyo. The two pieces on this seven inch were taken from the "Improvise*Dessert" CDR that he released in 2003. Drum machine, cheap synths, buzzing sounds." - Meeuw Muzak.

Artist: RECCHION, TOM
Title: Where Were You On Christmas?/Christmas Filled With Tears
Format: 7"
Label: Meeuw Muzak
Country: Netherlands
Price: $7.25
"Tom Recchion founded the Los Angeles Free Music Society in the late seventies (and if you can find it, try and get the 10 CD box that was released on RRRecords a while ago, which is an excellent documentation), and later on worked with David Toop, Keiji Haino, John Duncan and Smegma. For his solo work he loves exotica, which was ten years ago a term for lounge music of an exotic nature. Mood music played on an organ. These titles, Recchion uses a laptop with Ableton live.. Some strict editing certainly worked well on Tom Recchion contribution to what I call the darkest days of the year, or at least the most boring days. Like Mister Meeuw I dont like Christmas very much, but its a fine day to play all your alternative tunes and avoid Last Christmas and Mister Meeuw adds every year a new tune. Tom Recchion puts on his mood tune hat, and digs for some gospel preacher preaching where you were on christmas. The b-side has an even more sorrowful tune from a guy who lost his father and now he is all alone. Both pieces are precise and to the point. Let the season begin!" - Vital Weekly.

Artist: TIETCHENS, ASMUS/STEFANI RESSIN
Title: 3 Wishes
Format: 7"
Label: Meeuw Muzak
Country: Netherlands
Price: $9.00
"A: a cover of the klaus nomi tune by stefanie ressin (from hamburg).this is decent synth pop. B: salto rückwärts - version of stefanies cover by asmus tietchens" - Meeuw Muzak.

Artist: TITMACHINE
Title: I Wanna Be Your Dog
Format: 7"
Label: Meeuw Muzak
Country: Belgium
Price: $12.00
"If youd have asked me yesterday if I needed to hear another cover of the Stooges Wanna be your dog", the NO wouldve resonated like one of them Alps yodellers in the Riccola commercial. But after hearin Titmachines version of said overdone classic, Is liked to have choked to death on my cough drop. A tremendous neanderthalic, witchy all-fem DIY sucker punch right between the eyes of any of the greatest punk primitief classics you can name, right up there w/Kleenex & Manisch Depressiv. Id have peggedem as Swiss too, but theys Dutch & much like their infamous elm disease, Titmaster is more than capable of complete devastation. The B-side a wondrous mess as well & I am goin to the front of the line to wait impatiently for their next amazing release. Cmon, lets have it! NOW!" - SILTBLOG. "The four members of TITMACHINE met in prison (each was convicted of crimes she did not commit). Unable to find gainful employment upon their discharge from stoney lonesome, the ex-inmates formed a band, naturally, the ideal vehicle for the unemployable. The lucrative alternative Dutch music scene rewards them handsomely in exchange for the quartets release of pent-up rage fueled by continuing injustice. Since October 2006, Titmachines raw and loose sound has remained unhampered by the constraints of talent, and answers questions anyone has yet to ask. Kinda like the Dutch Shaggs meets the female Monks and Flipper with a conscience."-Meeuw Muzak. Restocked!

Artist: VON EULER-DONNERSPERG, DITTRICH
Title: O Du Frohliche/O Tannenbaum Dub
Format: 7"
Label: Meeuw Muzak
Country: Netherlands
Price: $6.50
"And of course, the days are short, the nights are long and we must celebrate the birth of our saviour again. Christmas was no friend of mine. But there is one little bit of light in the dark days of christmas: Meeuw Muzak releases another fine 7". By now I can spend at least half boxing day listening to the crazy christmas tunes of Meeuw. The latest addition is by Dittrich von Euler-Donnersperg who has released some even more crazy music on his own Walter Ulbricht label and Die Stadt, with partly reading of texts and partly electronic music. Here he offers two soft electronic music pieces, which are like snowflakes (of course it never snows in Dutch christmas times). Almost kitchy and new age like on a super cheesy keyboard with all the wrong (and thus right) preset sounds, Dittrich is perhaps that great family man that such tunes under his tannenbaum for a wealth of happy children, who start unwrapping their presents as daddy finishes his tunes. Great stuff, once again. I cant wait for christmas with my Meeuw Muzak collection (isnt about time for a nice CD compilation, mister Meeuw)." -Meeuw Muzak.
