Artist: ARIEL PINKS HAUNTED GRAFFITI
Title: Cant Hear My Eyes
Format: 7"
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $5.00
"These two new cuts from Ariel Pinks Haunted Graffiti went so fast, that we decided to repress 300 more copies to sell at stores. The demand has been crazy high and this is all before he starts recording his new upcoming album. This new material constitutes the FIRST studio recordings with the full band. The band features keyboardist Kenny Gilmore (Lilys), bassist Tim Koh (White Magic, All Night Radio), drummer Aaron Sperske (Beachwood Sparks, Lilys), and guitarist Cole M. Greif-Neill (The Samps)." - Mexican Summer.

Artist: ASHRAE FAX
Title: Static Crash
Format: LP
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $22.00
"Static Crash is magic, one of the most gorgeous collections of gothic ethereal pop/noise of its kind to rise from the American underground in decades. One could easily believe its origin to be from 1983, or 1993, or even 2013. But its 2003 release found few takers, outside of a small but dedicated local following. At a time when rock and roll was obnoxiously forcing its way back from the morass of pre-millennial digital aimlessness and DJ culture -- and at the same time was being fought on the other side by the glitzy shallowness of electroclash -- Ashrae Fax was finding ways to inject warmth and confidence into a mothballed musical form. Its eight songs take chances that most all had forgotten about, delving into the solitary power of Kate Bush, the esoteric directions of groups like Dif Juz, the Durutti Column, and the brash iconoclasm of prime-era Siouxsie & The Banshees, ballasted by stretches of ambient interlude and ear-damaging chaos. Limited numbered edition of 1,000 silk screened jackets. Vinyl includes download code." -Mexican Summer.

Artist: BEST COAST
Title: Crazy for You
Format: LP
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"Mexican Summer are elated to announce their latest artist and full length release from Californias Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno, aka Best Coast. Rolling out on July 27th, Crazy For You is a 12-track, twenty-nine minute collection of genuinely romantic sandy jams. Hazy, dreamy and genre-defining, Crazy For You proves that the impressive amount of press hype for Best Coast is more than warranted, especially coming off of her previous sold out singles on Group Tightener, Atelier Cuseaux, Art Fag, Black Iris, PPM and Eskuche. The bands much-awaited debut album was recorded at Black Iris, a studio in LAs Echo Park neighborhood, by Lewis Pesacov of the bands Fools Gold and Foreign Born. The result is a collection of maudlin and magical songs that approach relationships with a pure heart, a cloudy mind and pair of gas station sunglasses." - Mexican Summer.

Artist: BI
Title: Surf N Turf
Format: 7"
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $6.00
"The debut release from an aptly named bi-coastal duo. Bi is the amalgamation of New York experimental fixture Eric Copeland of Black Dice, and Los Angeles based alternative psych-pop musician Jimi Hey (All Night Radio, Beachwood Sparks). In SurfnTurf the pair use humid sunset production to bent pop songwriting, to give us their take on bubblegum. Think Tall Dwarfs meets ELO. 7" limited to 300." -Mexican Summer.

Artist: BITTERS
Title: East General
Format: LP
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"The Bitters are Aerin Fogel and Ben Cook (Fucked Up, Young Governor). Formed in the east end of Toronto, The Bitters write and record their self-proclaimed Cave Pop from their studio, an artistic cooperative shared with Torontos most creative musicians. Their debut 12? EP, Wooden Glove, was released last spring on Captured Tracks and sold out shortly after, having been instantly well-received among tough critics and keen listeners alike. The band is a result of Cook and Fogels prolific efforts and their ability to construct songs ranging from 50s melodies atop dark post-punk instrumentals, to 90s throwback alternative and grunge, which stems from their unique dynamic as friends and partners. Their collaborative work appears live with the help of drummer Jonah Falco (Fucked Up) and a rotation of starry guest bassists." - Mexican Summer. Edition of 1000.

Artist: DATE PALMS
Title: Honey Devash
Format: LP
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"Based in Oakland, California, Gregg Kowalsky and Marielle Jakobsons share internationally spanning solo careers as creative practitioners with a solid foundation in drone music composition and performance. However, it is a mutual love for analogue electric sound sources and tape multitracking that has resulted in their psychedelic, trance-inducing collaboration as Date Palms. Honey Devash, Date Palms first release on Mexican Summer, is testament to their captivating skill for layering and balancing timbres into long-form, immersive slow burners. Astonishingly evocative of desert heat, summer nights, dry sandscapes of fuzz bass, fender rhodes, synth, violin, tanpura and feedback shift gradually like dunes in hot winds, as wavering mirages in the distance are picked out through slow melodies on keyboards, piano and flutes. Two tracks of incredibly slow-panning consideration, Honey Devash feels like a hazy meditation on survival; a prolonged buzz of tension and uncertainty melding with simple acceptance as the sun, unrelenting, beats ever down…" - Mexican Summer.

Artist: DIMPLES
Title: I Can Feel You Out There
Format: 7"
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $5.00
"Dimples presents a marrow-deep comprehension of rocks most striking moves, strips them of their parts and leaves them up on blocks, as a warning. “I Can Feel You” chugs and chings through a nervy, slicked-down run through West Coast punk delinquency; “Heaven Blotted Regions” throws out the band and leaves Parme alone with a guitar and a drum machine, ripping out the sort of sleazy, Leisure Suit Larry-esque, yet highly personal ballad that sticks to the wall with effortless attitude. Something like Hanoi Rocks had they recorded for Shimmy-Disc. Two great goddamn songs. 500 pressed." -Mexican Summer

Artist: FOLSOM, ROBERT LESTER
Title: Music And Dreams
Format: LP
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $22.00
"One of the first of many reissues on the Mexican Summer slate brings forth a 1976 private press affair from Georgias Robert Lester Folsom, a high-quality and shimmering, unbuttoned-collar collection of marina rock and sunset ballads. Long out of print and worth a small fortune on eBay, this release is a perfect companion to your copies of "Something/Anything", "If Only I Could Remember My Name" and your Bobb Trimble reissues. Soft is not a four letter word, and this release proves why. Vaguely psychedelic and professionally rendered, this is a strong and consistent brace of rock, staid yet breezy. "At this point, it sounds current and refreshing, especially on album highlight My Stoves On Fire, which contains the best non-sequitur (I think I love you baby/ my stoves on fire) that may or may not actually be a metaphor for his heart and/or penis." - Mexican Summer.

Artist: FRACTION
Title: Moonblood
Format: LP/10"
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $42.00
"At long last, the FIRST fully authorized reissue of the psychedelic hard rock private press to end them all, Moonblood. There are very few albums in the psych/punk/hard rock/private presses strata that garner the sort of universal awe and accolades that FRACTIONs almighty Moonblood LP does, and even fewer records in the world that could be dubbed Christian Rock incur such fierce devotion. Indeed some records just meteorically lift themselves out any genre tag with brilliance and sheer defiance-and Moonblood is surely one of them. LP and 10-inch packaged with translucent red vellum on the sleeves. 1,000 pressed." - Mexican Summer.

Artist: FRESH & ONLYS
Title: Soothsayer
Format: 12"
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $18.00
"San Franciscos Fresh & Onlys are back, following up 2012s stunning Long Slow Dance with Soothsayer, a special digital and 12" vinyl installment release. Featuring six brand new tracks that are heavy on the pop-side, the Onlys reconfirm their effortless songwriting panache and renowned stylistic flexibility - shifting from driving, anthemic choruses to down-home folk with absolute comfort and ease. From the opening title-track, with its jaunty bridge and studied 60s pop sensibility, its clear that the band are still masters of the (deceptively) simple melody. God of Suez is a swaying, beach-ready boogie, with a charming Mamas & Papas guitar lick, whilst Forest Down Annies slow, reverent pace and psychedelic guitar flourishes harken back to the groups gloomier earlier releases. Closer Deluge of War boasts a soaring, harmonic chorus - finishing up Soothsayer on a high. Strong, solid, and dependable might not be the most buzz-worthy words in the current musical zeitgeist, but in an age where so many bands are masking songs with muddied production and studio trickery, its refreshing to hear some truly great songwriting and musicianship shine through." - Mexican Summer.

Artist: FRESH & ONLYS
Title: Yes or No
Format: 7"
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $6.00
"The Fresh & Onlys are four supremely talented (if a bit shaggy-looking) San Franciscans. The band is so comfortable with mixing and matching seemingly disparate genre elements that each song is its own mini-musical movement. Really! (Not really). Yes or No and Take Back The Night serve as a teaser for Long Slow Dance." - Mexican Summer.

Artist: GAUNTLET HAIR
Title: Out...Dont
Format: 7"
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $5.00
Hand-numbered edition of 500 copies. "The duo of Andy R. and Craig Nice makes up Denver, COs Gauntlet Hair, but the gravity of the situation they create goes deeper than that. Both men are part of the Rhinoceropolis house in the city, and have sparked a musical movement thats already gotten some dap via electronic artist Pictureplane. Gauntlet Hair divides the dance beats with an icy spell of post-punk and chilly, urbane vocals, but keep the rhythm up front and the aural violence at tense levels. Imagine the gorgeous gents of Duran Duran dressing up as Liars and showing up to the beardo mountain Brooklyn commune to pants the guys in Yeasayer, and youre a bit on course to defining the heavy space hits and body-moving apocalypse grooves they dumpster-dine on every night. Pressed on beautiful translucent yellow vinyl. 500 pressed" -Mexican Summer

Artist: GR
Title: A Reverse Age
Format: LP
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $18.00
"Truth comes today from Frances Gregory Raimo, once again taking up the mantle of the performance moniker GR. Raimo has been shredding with ingenious ferocity for a number of years now, both alone and as guitarist/vocalist for Gunslingers, a power trio fortified by his relentless barrage of guitar noise and rhythmic imperative. A Reverse Age is Raimos third and most intense solo album, following a collaborative EP with Michael Yonkers. Those of you in the know will hear Yonkers late 60s period influence, whether it be myth or reality (only the artist is telling), as you might also find the strange, hissing atmosphere of Alien Soundtracks-era Chrome or the psychic limbering-up of The Magic Band evident in GRs music. Real, productive damage comes from within, however, and thats where A Reverse Age performs its miracles. It figures that you would need to go back 30 to 40 years in the history of underground or fringe music to find any sort of precedent to its eight songs. Its restless nature highlights Raimos frantic compositional structures and explosive playing across guitar, bass and drums alike, the product of one guy with real vision and the skills to pull off a work of virtuosic hostility such as this one. Riffs sizzle and burn up, pushed through effects that somehow cheapen lesser works yet bolster this one. Things you know -- eldritch forest folk, roadhouse blues, aggressive jazz-style drumming -- are distended near to the point where they become part of GRs own musical syllabus, grounded by GRs street-corner vocal hustle, sounding like Armand Schaubroeck rapping into a CB radio in a stolen car, out joyriding and knocking off side view mirrors." -Mexican Summer.

Artist: GRAHAM, ANDREW & SWARMING BRANCH
Title: Andrew Grahams Good Word
Format: LP
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"ANDREW GRAHAMs first release since the dissolution of RTFO BANDWAGON, the elegantly primitive Columbus, OH folk band. While RTFO Bandwagon heavily reiterated the elements already present in Grahams guitar frameworks with the bass, drums, and even the vocal melodies, Swarming Branch takes a more delicate approach. Throughout Good Word, each instrument plays only one note at a time, freeing up space in the mix and ensuring that every note is intentional." - Mexican Summer.

Artist: HAPPY JAWBONE FAMILY BAND
Title: Happy Jawbone Family Band
Format: Double LP
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $31.00
"Freewheeling Brattleboro, VT rock/folk wonderments the Happy Jawbone Family Band bring their latest full-length to Mexican Summer. What theyve entrusted us to give to you represents their finest and most directly fulfilling effort to date. The energy and humor of early releases remains; that band you may have loved before has grown even stronger and more potent, its songs now monuments to individualism, to longing, to happier endings resulting from imperfect circumstances. Binding folk, indie rock and pop forms together is easy enough; its what this band does with them, how it builds its sentiments and bursts preconceptions, that put them in a place where these musicians can rest, comfortably above and apart from almost every band working in this same terrain today. Were hearing the trippiest moments of the Beatles, Lindsey Buckingham at the peaks he reached on Tusk, and both poles of American post-punk songwriting royalty, Camper Van Beethoven at one end and Thinking Fellers Union Local 282 at the other." - Mexican Summer.

Artist: HOME BLITZ
Title: A.T.K./Last Cycle
Format: 7"
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $6.00
"Its okay there arent any two Home Blitz releases which sound alike. Sure, bandleader Daniel DiMaggio is involved in all of them -- thats his voice, a British scouser trapped in a latent New Jersey teenagers body -- and theyre all pretty much as lo-fi as you can get without the tape disintegrating, but its his approach to songwriting that changes things up on each new record. Here we have two new ones, songs about nostalgia for experiences not had (A.T.K., which shifts from Incredible Kidda Band style energy to Pavement-esque slacker downbeats in just over two minutes), and experiences in interstate travel and estimation of ones worth (Last Cycle, doing a completely different trick in something more like three). Both songs bristle with the sort of nervous energy that powered groups like the Feelies and Game Theory, two distinct touchpoints in Home Blitzs sloppy, floppy sound, and when they power through it in the live setting (with guitarist Theresa Smith, bassist Jason Sigal and teenage drummer Henry Hynes in tow), they become the greatest band on the East Coast for that moment." - Mexican Summer.

Artist: HOME BLITZ
Title: Frozen Track
Format: 12
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"Six more tracks by the coolest band in the Tri-State area. Daniel DiMaggio is living in the big city now and as the driving force behind Home Blitz, he keeps the rhythms crazier and the feelings more nervous than ever, having fully adopted the restless jangle of Hoboken 81, the working class anger of Londons East End in the mid 70s and the starry-eyed wonder of the Sunset Strip in 78. You can choose which lens you want to view them through, though theres only one right answer: that which is the most sincere, because Home Blitz is nothing if not real. If they align most closely with the sort of bespectacled guitar pop-in-the-wake-of-punk that gave rock critics the chills way back when, its because thats where the heart of this music resides, the thrill of excavation and discovery of an era before ones own, the one that speaks to you the most clearly. There is real love in these songs, five new originals and a reverent cover of Game Theorys Rolling with the Moody Girls. What a great time youre gonna have with this one. Includes mp3 download; hand-numbered edition of 1000 copies." -Mexican Summer.

Artist: JACUZZI BOYS
Title: Bricks or Coconuts
Format: 7"
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $4.00
"Born of the swamp and sun in early 2007, the music of the Jacuzzi Boys roosts like a bad vulture somewhere between the hazy shade of the coconut palm and the fevered neon of the Magic City. This is raucous pop of the murkiest order””jangling guitars, caveman drums, and songs of sex and seashells, dead animals and birthday cakes. Dragging behind in their dusty wake, the Jacuzzi Boys come bearing a string of 7″ singles that did nothing if not forecast the twelve-song tornado that is their debut LP, No Seasons. If 2009 was any indication, 2010 is the year the Jacuzzi Boys come busting out of the tropics, naked as the gator and twice as toothy." - Mexican Summer.

Artist: MANTLES
Title: Pink Information
Format: LP
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $22.00
"Incredible jangle-pop that conducts a druggy seance for the spirit of Gene Clark. A collectors dream, these San Francisco visionaries have released an incredible series of singles on Duc-I-Tone, Slumberland, and Slitbreeze. Shades of LA 66, New Zealand 82 and London 86 dance around each other in a delirious, druggy waking dream. Truly beautiful stuff." - Mexican Summer.

Artist: MICHAEL ANGELO
Title: Sorcerers Delight
Format: 7"
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $6.50
"We first heard of Michael Angelos brilliant soft psyche from his 1977 self-titled album, but when Angelo himself shared these ultra rare recordings from his album A Sorcerers Dream-Mexican Summer headquarters pretty much flipped out. This is a perfect 7 inch thats filled with ahead of its time bubble jams-if Bobb Trimble, Ariel Pink, and Caetano Veloso had a drunken night, it would surely harp this. " -Mexican Summer. Numbered edition of 500.

Artist: PEAKING LIGHTS
Title: Lucifer
Format: LP
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $19.00
"The golden duo of Aaron Coyes and Indra Dunis continue to crystallize their mesmerizing sound and find new dimensions within. Lucifer also comes at a time of great transition for this married couple and it reflects the possibilities that they have found during this new life era, especially with the birth of their son, Mikko, a guiding light muse for the album. Recorded in Brooklyn at Garys Electric studio over the course of a month, Peaking Lights consider Lucifer a nocturnal version of their sound. Its slinkier and full of grooves. To us this record is about play and playfulness, unconditional love, rhythms and pulses, creation and vibration, says Coyes. Lucifer is also Peaking Lights most ambitious release to date in terms of its approach and scope. Through their studio experiments, the duo has managed to link their musical loves - dub, krautrock, analog electronic dance music, sound collages, pop music - all while maintaining cohesive songs. Lucifer was self-produced and engineered by Al Carlson (Yeasayer, Ford & Lopatin, 0PN)." - Mexican Summer. Includes download code.

Artist: PERHACS, LINDA
Title: Parallelograms
Format: Double LP
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $28.00
Deluxe gatefold, hand-numbered edition of 1000 copies, featuring a download coupon and 6-sided insert with new liner notes written by Perhacs in May, 2010. "Mexican Summer is beyond psyched to present a hefty, heavy gatefold edition of Linda Perhacss lone album, Parallelograms. On the strength of this single album, recorded in 1970, Linda Perhacs remains a towering figure in the world of psychedelia, folk, female singer-songwriters, and acid-visionaries alike. Lauded by artists as diverse as Daft Punk, Devendra Banhart, Animal Collective, and Swedish metal band Opeth, in the 21st century, her album remains a testament to her singularity of vision. Ignored upon its initial release, Parallelograms seemingly sank without a trace, and Perhacs gave up making music for the next forty years. Psych fans the world over unearthed and began to obsess over this album in the meantime: a spine-tingling blend of crystalline vocal melodies from Perhacs, mind-expanding sound effects, and on the title track, one of the finest aural hallucinations ever captured, equal parts sound sculpture and visual music." -Mexican Summer

Title: Lounge Lizards
Format: LP
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $19.00
"After a series of three LPs which alternated between minds eye-gouging psychedelic excess and pine-scented woodshedding of pop tunes, here comes the logical endpoint between both: Lounge Lizards, six songs that stick around like sedan carpet matted with spilled Pepsi and Pats wrappers, a hard drill that penetrates historical musical hits, like the Cars through Dinosaur Jr through Monoshock and into the cold, acrid air of present times." - Mexican Summer. Limited, numbered edition of 1000; includes download code.

Title: Stilyagi
Format: 7"

"The first single from the upcoming PURO INSTINCT (formerly known as PEARL HARBOR) full-length. Puro Instincts tasty first single features the helping hand of none other than fan and mate ARIEL PINK, who took the group on tour last year supporting Haunted Graffiti. Here, Mr. Pink adds background vocals behind PIPERs dreamy voice. With Puro Instincts full-length debut Headbangers in Ecstasy on the horizon, Mexican Summer is proud to boast that Puro Instinct will be the reality in 2011. "Fleetwood Mac-meets-Soviet-pop vibes abound on STILYAGI, which features Puros L.A. homie / tourmate / 7-inch coverboy Ariel Pink . . . and will definitely be making an appearance on our favorite songs of 2010 list."-Gorilla vs. Bear. Artist: RADIO PEOPLE
Title: Hazel
Format: LP
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"Slowly drifting over the horizon, into the realms of Mexican Summer, comes Radio People. The return of Cleveland, Ohio man Sam Goldbergs cosmic synthesizer project is cause for fanfare of the most blissful kind – his music is, after all, a beautiful, hovering behemoth worthy of celebration.  Since 2007 Goldberg has become renowned for his slew of highly collectable cassettes, CDRs and VHS on such labels as the Emeralds-curated Wagon and Gneiss Things, Weird Forest, 905 Tapes, Catholic Tapes and Tusco/Embassy, while also finding the time to found his own prolific imprint Pizza Night. Radio People appeared in 2009, producing a similar cascade of material, with Digitalis Records carefully gathering a selection and committing them to vinyl a year later. Mexican Summer is proud to contribute to this legacy with his new album Hazel, a collection of dream-like soundscapes, billowing clouds of synthesizers cut with poignant razor drones, expansive sweeping melodies and suspended harmonies. When brought out of reverie, Radio People pushes ever onward with Italo and Kosmische pulses, concise percussion and sombre vocals, but when left for a while it is always happy to melt back into music for drooping eyelids and swollen hearts. Intergalactic drama at its best and most essential. 750 pressed." - Mexican Summer

Artist: RAMASES
Title: Space Hymns
Format: LP
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $22.00
Hand-numbered edition of 2000. "In 1971, a message was delivered from an Egyptian god through his vessel to the youth of the world via the infamous Vertigo label. That vessel was one Martin Raphael, an central heating salesman from Sheffield, shocked into servitude by Ramases in order to preach his word. Backed by the band Hotlegs, who were moments away from being known as 10cc, Ramases created this one-of-a-kind cosmic folk rarity, a bizarre and alluring message of peace and the supernatural, housed in a six-panel Roger Dean gatefold designed to make your pupils dilate. Mexican Summer proudly presents an exact reissue of the first Ramases LP, available domestically after almost 40 years of a secret existence." -Mexican Summer

"Back to the solo stance, T.K. Webb trades in the power moves of his last album Ancestor for the sad-eyed folk foundations that propped them up, bringing back the power of the rock trio and transposing it into a more personal, confessional offering. Honest music by a guy whos been killing it for years." - Mexican Summer.

Artist: WOODEN SHJIPS
Title: Contact
Format: 12
Label: Mexican Summer
Country: USA
Price: $18.00
"This release is brand a new slab from SFs incomparable Wooden Shjips. They are a modern day answer to space rockers like Hawkwind, F/i, or just the good parts of Van der Graaff Generator. This band helped to kick off the modern small-press vinyl revival with their debut 10"EP (now a sought-after collectors piece) and eking out limited releases one at a time since 2005. For this release the band has cooked up a two-song EP of colossal proportions. Contact is a cover of a Serge Gainsbourg classic, made famous by Brigitte Bardot. The Shjips update with their patented thousand yard psych-cosmos stare, transposing the originals freakbeat tendencies with a Krautrock bassline and a transcendental wander thatll put you in the zone, every time. Once there, chill out even harder to the EZ Version of original I Hear the Vibrations, is slower, grander, heavier, and dreamier, and takes full advantage of the 12" format for better fidelity and a truly blissful listening experience." - Mexican Summer.
