Artist: AFFLICTED MAN
Title: Im Off Me Ead
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
Limited repress. "Im Off Me Ead is DIY psych punk (or "Hippy Punk" as STEVE HALL calls it) at its finest, but dont just take my word for it. Heavyweight record aficionados such as Henry Rollins, Byron Coley, Tom Lax, Doug Mosurock, and Geoffrey Weiss are BIG fans... ""Afflicted Mans style could best described at stock-in-trade Brit DIY w/an almost Street Level sortve quality to it...Too freaked out for punks, too punked out for freaks...mustve felt like a rusty safety pin stuck straight through the heart of whatever DIY fanbase Hall had acquired. And for all the Pink Fairies or Hawkwind types that mighta come across it, it was too primitive & animalistic for their quid."-Siltblog. We here at Permanent absolutely love this record and are incomprehensibly honored to be the label reissuing it on vinyl for the first time ever. Its been fully licensed by Steve Hall himself and painstakingly remastered by the total pros at Penguin Recording in Eagle Rock. The jacket artwork was graciously reconstituted and touched-up by Bill "Trouble In Mind" Roe. The full-color Im Off Me Ead inner sleeve contains a bunch of unseen AFFLICTED MAN photos, an unpublished interview with Steve Hall and a fully authorized reprint of Chris Stiglianos article from Forced Exposure #9 (Winter 1986)." -Permanent.

Artist: ALBRIGHT, CHARLES
Title: Im Happy, Im A Genius
Format: 7"
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $8.00
"Charles Albright self-released a 7" last year (2009) that knocked us out. It obviously had the same effect on Scott Soriano at S-S Records, cuz he reissued it on his own label. Its long since sold out and highly sought after. Anyhow, heres Mr. Albrights (not the serial killer, unfortunately) follow-up, a killer 7-song EP. Its a blown-out, lo-fi, catchy punk jammer with loads of hooks and sweet riffs. A couple of the tracks are experimental guitar instrumentals that give you a chance to catch your breath before picking yourself up off the ground to begin pogoing again. Charles is a big fan of Black Flag and if you are too (especially the early stuff), youll probably dig this slab." -Permanent.

Artist: ALBRIGHT, CHARLES
Title: Weight/I Am The Counter Culture (Drop Out)
Format: 7"
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $8.00
"Were obviously not the only ones whove been anxiously awaiting a third record from Albright. And here it is?yet another blown‐out, lo-fi, catchy punk jammer with loads of hooks and sweet riffs to complete the trifecta. Albrights still a fine young man and hes doing so well. Hes still on drugs and hes still happy hes a genius (and so are we), but hes not singing about any of that on this record. This Sacto punk has brutalized us twice before, but never quite like this. The third times definitely a charm and even though Charles is no longer a loner he is still absolutely in charge on this one. Weight finds Mr. A drumless for the first time ever, but the repetitive riff-tensity hides the lack of percussion pretty damn well on this wham‐bam-thank-you-maam punker. For the B-side, Charles mustve taken a ride on the Silver Machine, but hes obviously still feeling mean, cuz the riff behind I Am The Counter Culture (Drop Out) sounds quite a bit like a certain Hawkwind jam we all know and love. But this aint no cover song, (Drop Out) stands on its own as a killer psychedelic punk number for the ages. This incredible single is limited to 300 hand-numbered copies and precedes the sure to be mind melting debut full-length due out this Fall. Turn on, Tune In, and (Drop Out) while supplies last." -Permanent

Artist: BASIC CABLE
Title: Im Good to Drive
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $19.00
"Channeling bad vibes, worse hangovers and a general life-keeps-shitting-on-us attitude, Chicagos Basic Cable find a way to have fun as they commiserate with each other, and their listeners. Fairly new to the scene, their blown out guitars, shouted, monotone vocals and punishing rhythms make for a noisy, punk-as-fuck attack that tingles our dingles in ways we can barely comprehend." - Empty Bottle.

Artist: BITCHIN BAJAS
Title: Krausened EP
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"Fans of Terry Riley, Kraftwerk, Conrad Schntizler, and Kosmische Musik in general take note!  BITCHIN BAJAS has returned to Permanent Records (following their split single with Moon Duo) with a brand new record of side-long transcendental synth workouts. This is Bitchin Bajas most accessible and autobahn ready delivery to date! Bitchin Bajas began as a side project, but COOPER CRAIN of CAVE and DAN QUINLIVAN formerly of MAHJONGG have been spending as much time, if not more, with Bitchin Bajas as they have with the aforementioned groups and theyve been progressing very quickly.  In just two or so years, Bitchin Bajas have released three critically acclaimed LPs (one on Important Records and two on Kallestei Editions), two incredible splits (one with Moon Duo and the other with the Peaking Lights-related Faceplant), and one very limited edition cassette tape. The two side-long pieces on this nearly 40 minute EP were written on their 2012 European tour and recorded and mixed over three days by Bitchin Bajas at Minbal Studio in Chicago, Illinois. Edition of 500 copies." - Permanent.

Artist: BLACK MATH
Title: Phantom Power
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"WFMU aptly described Black Maths debut LP from 2009 as Dark-wave buried in tape hiss, with grinding synth, electric cello, and drum machine. The three piece lists Depeche Mode and Big Black as influences, but theyre not straight up 80s. The band will also tell you that Siouxsie and the Banshees are a big influence, but Black Math has a completely compelling, catchy, dark and mysterious sound all their own. This album features 9 new tracks of killer dark- ?wave pop (with some pretty harsh sounding guitar and synth parts) as well as an amazing cover of the Anals Commando of Love (from Total Anal; PERM 006LP). First press is limited to 500 copies." - Permanent.

Artist: BRAIN IDEA
Title: The Survival Scrolls
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"Brain Idea is one of Chicagos most exciting new bands. Their second release is also their debut full-length on Permanent Records. Its full of stripped down, super upbeat, catchy, and totally DIY-style rocknroll jams, heavily influenced by New Zealands legendary DIY indie rockers, The Clean and 90s bedroom recording pop savants. Brain Idea took most of the material on their now out-of-print and highly sought after demo cassette tape and re-recorded it with much more depth and reverb, especially on the vocals. Theyve added some great instrumental interludes that tie the tracks together which are quite Kraut-y in nature (these guys were the ones behind that NOi! tape (classic Oi! punk cuts covered Krautrock-style), mind you). The dudes in Brain Idea also have a part-time Creedence Clearwater Revival cover band called Graveyard Train, so you know theyre of good taste. They even cover the Clean for chrissakes. Fans of lo-fi DIY pop, Krautrock, and CCR-esque pop genius will absolutely dig Brian Idea." - Permanent

Artist: CACAW
Title: Cacaw
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"If you dug the brutal noise rock sounds crammed onto the one side of their debut EP, youre gonna flip over their brand new LP. Its heavier, louder, and longer. Thats right, two full sides of Cacaws signature noise rock brutality. A big selling point for their first release was the fact that two former members of the Coughs are in Cacaw, however, Cacaw have since garnered their own audience and the Coughs reference seems barely worth mentioning any longer. For those of you who havent heard them yet, Cacaw takes the Coughs sound and distills it down to a more minimal yet no less intense brand of really fucking groovy noise rock. Cacaw have quickly become one of Chicagos most popular underground rock bands. Cacaws second record, just like their first release, is a doozie both sonically and visually. The grooves on the marbled colored vinyl contain some incredibly intense jams. The card stock tri-color jacket has also been diligently hand screen printed by band members." - Permanent.

Artist: CHEVEU
Title: Cheveau
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"Metz, France seems to be teeming with great bands these days. Anals, Feeling of Love, Dreams, and A.H. Kraken are just the tip of this incredibly huge Metz iceberg. Many of these bands share members, but they all have their very own sound. CHEVEUs sound is similar to the aforementioned bands in their abrasive, weird punk base, but this group more obliviously influenced by the Fall than any of their peers. Their debut LP on S-S sold very well and is currently out-of-print. Heres another LP full of previously unreleased tracks of weird punk greatness" - Permanent.

Artist: COSMONAUTS
Title: s/t
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"COSMONAUTS are Orange Countys premier garage psych group and theyre barely old enough to drink legally. These kids have only been making music together for a short while, but theyve already shared stages with and are garnering comparisons to well-known garage and psych acts like Black Angels, Ty Segall, and Thee Oh Sees. Although Cosmonauts share some similar influences with these groups, their sound is much grittier, more repetitive, and more Spacemen 3 influenced. Cassette tape tastemakers, Burger Records, released the Cosmonauts debut on tape back in 2010 and now its available on wax for the first time courtesy of Permanent Records. Fans of the aforementioned bands will absolutely be calling themselves Cosmonauts fans before the year is out. First pressing is limited to 500 copies." - Permanent.

Artist: DRUNKS WITH GUNS
Title: S/T
Format: Cass
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $6.00
"Drunks With Guns were a nihilistic, noise rock / dumb punk band from St. Louis in the mid-80s. Their self-titled LP from 1987 included 9 songs worth of Brainbombs-meets-Flipper style punk with titles like Dick in One Hand..., Punched in the Head, and Wonderful Subdivision. This band is legendary and theres loads of rumor and heresy surrounding the legend. The band formed in 1984, released about a half-dozen singles and a couple LPs, played four shows and called it quits (well, in the same way Chrome called it quits anyway. The original singles and the LPs (and even the Complete Drunks With Guns tape) are virtually impossible to find these days. Among others, Monty Buckles of the Lamps is a big fan of the DWG and he wrote an excellent article in the last issue of Z-Gun that we definitely recommend reading at some point. Anyhow, weve reissued the Drunks With Guns self-titled LP in an edition of 100 tapes and theyre ready for consumption. This tape aint no bootleg neither. We actually took the time to get in touch with Mike Doskocil, the singer from Drunks With Guns and got permission for the release. We were hoping to do an LP reissue, but apparently the master tapes are in unusable condition. Dont fret, these tapes were professionally dubbed and the fidelity is about as good as your gonna get out of a cassette tape (read: they sound like they should, especially for a Drunks With Guns release). Dont have a cassette deck? What better excuse to get one than a Drunks With Guns tape! Tape decks are littering thrift stores everywhere. Save them from the landfills and enjoy some of the sweet jams that have been issued on the cassette tape format lately, there have been some great ones! Fans of Brainbombs, Flipper, and all things noise rock will definitely want to snatch one of these up before their gone." - Permanent

Artist: HEATER
Title: God and Hair
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"HEATER is a three-piece Columbia super group, if such a thing exists. Heaters guitarist and lead singer, ZACH "ZZ" MCLUCKIE, used to be a member of CAVE and SNEAKERS), among others. Heaters bassist / second guitarist, JEREMY "JERUSALEM" FREEZE also plays guitar in JERUSALEM and the STARBASKETS, and both he and Heaters drummer, JON "WUJJ", formerly jammed together in CALIFORNIA RAISINS (their only release was a split 10-inch with Cave, also on Permanent). God and Hair is a super upbeat, melodic pop record in essence, but as mentioned before, these guys come from a very DIY background. Its got some fast repetitive lo-fi punk rock jams with reverb enhanced vocals similar to those found on the Sneakers Children Into People EP, and some Clean-esque pop elements, but its also got tracks with a great laid back summertime 90s alt-pop vibe not too dissimilar from the least noisy 90s moments of Sonic Youth and Sebadoh. All of these elements come together and make for a unique sound, and make for one hell of a summertime DIY pop jammer." -Permanent

Artist: KING BLOOD
Title: Eyewash Silver
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"In late 2010 a record came out of nowhere and blew our minds. That record was Eyewash Silver by King Blood. Unfortunately, it was issued in a limited edition of 100 copies and it disappeared faster than a fugitive at a busted up coke party. Eyewash Silver is an incredible, dumbed-down, shit-fi, riff-drenched instrumental psych record that will KILL fans of Wooden Shjips/Les Rallizes Denudes. This limited reissue contains the same astounding sounds as the original pressing, but the artwork has been glorified. Each one of these 300 copies was lovingly hand-assembled, diligently hand-numbered, and carefully handled by Permanent staffers." -Permanent

Artist: MERX
Title: 20000 Sq Ft Under The Sea
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $18.00
"LAs MERX is back with another platter of menacing post-punk, no-wave, cold-wave, industrial electronic thinking-mans creep terror. "LAs Merx is a pretty frightening proposition channeling brutal cold wave via influences like Chrome, Throbbing Gristle, and Suicide. Everyone writing about the band mentions their very tall, sometimes bespectacled vocalist who sounds eerily like Ian Curtis. I thought it was one of those tired, rock journalist tropes until I put on the track The Law off their s/t Permanent Records debut, and found myself sitting straight up in the chair like Id just heard a ghost! For your extreme listening pleasure!!"-Live Eye TV Video Music Blog

Artist: MOON DUO/BITCHIN BAJAS
Title: Boppers Hat/Fresh Hair
Format: 7"
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $8.00
"We here at Permanent Records couldnt be more delighted to be sharing with you our very first Record Store Day exclusive release, a split 7" between (the brand new CAVE side project) Bitchin Bajas and Moon Duo (featuring Wooden Shjips guitarist Erik Ripley Johnson). CAVE and Wooden Shjips share a lot in common, but their respective side projects make an even better split pairing. Each band specializes in minimalist, repetitive psych thats obviously influenced by krautrock. However, they differ in that Bitchin Bajas focuses on melodic repetition while Moon Duo is heavier on the rhythm and quite a bit darker. This is Bitchin Bajas debut release. Moon Duo has released three critically acclaimed records to date. Both tracks on this split are exclusive to this release, which is limited to 750 copies, never to be pressed again." - Permanent.

Artist: NO BALLS
Title: Come Clean
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"The debut LP by BRAINBOMBS side-project, NO BALLS, old out immediately upon its first release on the Swedish Release the Bats label. Heres the much more affordable, domestic pressing of 500 copies on Permanent. The only difference is the artwork. If you like Brainbombs, but you dont particularly care for the vocals, then youll love this. If you like the Brainbombs, and the vocals, youll still love this. Come Clean is brutal, pummeling, repetitive, noise rock at its finest. Some folks are already calling it the RECORD OF THE YEAR." - Permanent.

Artist: NOTHING PEOPLE
Title: Youre Invited
Format: 7"
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $9.00
"Nothing People, like Wooden Shjips, are one of our generations great bands, that doesnt tour much. Unless you live in or around their hometown of Orland, California, or you happened to pick up one of their excellent releases on S-S or HoZac, you may not have ever heard of them, but those who have, love them. On previous releases, theyve blended influences such as Chrome, Hawkwind, Roxy Music, and obscure proto-punk bands like Twinkeyz into a sound thats all their own. This new limited edition 7", housed in a texured glue pocket sleeve with gold foil stamping on the exterior, is the first release featuring former Monoshock member Doug Pearson! This release includes two of their most rockin numbers to date. Limited to 600 copies!" - Permanent.

Artist: OBNOX
Title: Rojo
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $19.00
"Bim Only My Mom Calls Me Lamont Thomass legendary status as the drummer in the Bassholes, This Moment In Black History, and more recently, Puffy Areolas, may soon be overshadowed by Obnox. Rojo is some serious next level shit. If you dig noise rock, psych, free jazz, and most importantly, cacophonous repetition, youre gonna absolutely love this record." -Permanent.

Artist: PSYCLONES
Title: Different Thinking People
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"Psyclones are an obscure 80s artpunk band equally influenced by Devo, Chrome, and Cabaret Voltaire. They released LPs on Subterranean and RRRecords along with numerous cassettes on their own label, Ladd-Frith, throughout the 80s. They played shows with many legendary punk groups such as X, the Lewd, Hüsker Dü and appeared on The Gift Of Noise comp in 1983 alongside No Trend, F/i, Senseless Hate, and Smersh. Theyre a self-proclaimed industrial pop group. The Psyclones Different Thinking People LP on Permanent Records contains only previously unreleased material from the bands formative years. The full-color printed inner sleeve features vintage show flyers, lyrics, and discography album art. Limited one-time pressing of 500!" -Permanent

Artist: PUFFY AREOLAS/PURLING HISS
Title: Record Store Day Split
Format: 12
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"Phillys Purling Hiss have quickly made a name for themselves and in just over a year have already released 3 critically acclaimed LPs on Permanent, Richie, and Woodsist in addition to an upcoming 12" release on Mexican Summer. Theyve toured with Kurt Vile and the Violators and share members with Birds of Maya. Purling Hiss side is an epic (nearly 9 minutes long) psychedelic noise rock burner complete with Mike Polizzes signature shred all over it. Ohios Puffy Areolas have been destroying PAs and blowing minds at DIY venues for a couple years now. They are one of the best and most dangerous live acts going these days. Theyve released a handful of 7" singles and well-received LPs on Siltbreeze within the last year and are still raging across America leaving nothing but crushed beer cans, empty pill bottles, and roaches in their wake. Puffy Areolas side of this split is a doom-y noise psych annihilator that clocks in at just less than 8 minutes. Both sides of this deep groove 12" split EP were cut at 45 RPM for maximum volume. Not for the faint of heart. Limited to 750 copies." -Permanent.

Artist: PURLING HISS

Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $20.00
"Purling Hiss is one of Phillys Best! Purling Hiss is the side-project of Holy Mountain recording artists, Birds of Maya, guitarist Mike Pollize. Birds of Maya are a full-on psychedelic rock band from Philly. Apparently, Birds just arent full-on enough to satisfy Pollizes far-out tendencies. On his debut solo record, Pollize plays bass, drums, and guitar, relentlessly, as if hes playing to save his life. This recording is so intense that the pressing plant told us theyd risk breaking their equipment if they cut the lacquers with the original master. We sent em a new master and it sounds great! For Fans Of: Birds of Maya, Earthless, Loop, High Rise, Les Rallizes Denudes, and Lo-Fi Blown-Out Psych." - Permanent.

Artist: REV, MARTIN
Title: Clouds of Gory
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $19.00
"Martin Revs (from Suicide) second long player finally in print for the first time in 30 years!!!!! Its like someone took an unreleased Suicide record, removed the vocal tracks, and replaced them with synth oscilliations, chirps, drones and explosions --Opium Hum. Haunting second album of minimalist analogue synth experimentation from Suicides Martin Rev. Never before pressed to vinyl in the States. Previously available as an import on French label New Rose. A killer follow-up to his debut LP reissued in 2013 by Superior Viaduct. For fans of: Suicide, Kraftwerk, Craig Leon, John Bender, Cabaret Voltaire, Silver Apples." - Permanent.

Artist: RUNNING
Title: S/T
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"Running is one of Americas best psych/punk bands. Running sounds to us like Clockcleaner, if they played twice as fast and half as long. The vocals are reverbed beyond recognition, the drums are pummeling, and the bass and guitar are abrasive feedback-laden. After pumping out a couple of incredible cassette tape-only releases, Running went into the studio and recorded some of their material (semi) professionally. Those recordings have now been preserved to wax as Runnings debut 12" EP. This eponymous EP comes housed in a jacket with really interestingly created artwork and contains exactly 13 totally brutal weird punk songs. If these guys were jockier, theyd be a hardcore band. Thankfully, theyre too arty for that ish. This record fucking rips! The first pressing is limited to 500 copies!" -Permanent

Artist: UMBERTO
Title: From The Grave..
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
Repressed. "EXPO 70 bass/synth player MATT HILL has gone solo. His debut LP under the UMBERTO moniker is an analog masterpiece heavily influenced by the classic film score work of Goblin, except arguably better. From the moment you drop the needle, youll be transported to Italy as an extra in a vintage horror flick directed by Dario Argento. This is some of the most accessible, yet totally authentic sounding music of the "giallo" genre weve ever heard. It was previously only available as a hyper limited edition CDR and cassette tape via Sonic Meditations. For fans of Goblin, John Carpenter, Zombi, and classic Italian horror soundtracks."-Permanent Records.

Title: Busted At Oz
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $19.00
"Finally! After 30 long years since its original release, the definitive Chicago punk document is available again on vinyl! Busted At Oz was originally released in 1981 on Autumn Records. It has been long out-of-print and regularly fetches collector prices in stores and online. It contains some of the earliest recordings from well-known Chicago punk acts such as Naked Raygun and Effigies, as well as more obscure Chicago punk groups such as Strike Under, Subverts, Silver Abuse, and one of Chicagos first mostly-female post-punk groups, Da. The tip-on jackets for this 30th Anniversary limited edition vinyl-only reissue were reproduced by Stoughton to look exactly like the original by using the actual vintage print left over from the original pressing!" -Permanent

Artist: VCSR
Title: Tape #4
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $19.00
"Never before released archival material from Chicagos answer to Germanys 70s kosmische/electronic scene!!!!!!! Featuring Bil Vermette!!!! VCSR existed between 1978 and 1984. They werent a band or a group so much as it was a collective. They never had an official release but recorded over 60 reels of tape from which cassettes were mixed down for their own use or to give to friends. They were to be the first record on the Waxx Traxx label with Al Jourgenson producing but that never came to be. Tape #4 is one of these raw reels recorded in 1979 and 1980. There are overdubs but no edits or redos, it was live onto tape and then maybe a second pass to add leads, etc. Many of the reels are live onto one track only. This was done before they had a mixer. Most of these reels are now in Washington state and some are here in Chicago and some are not accounted for. Instruments used: Arp-2600, Korg MS-20, Rhythm Ace, Yamaha & Farfisa organs, guitar, ElectroComp synthesizers and various other keyboards and effects --Bil Vermette. For fans of: Klaus Schulze, Popol Vuh, Cluster, Bitchin Bajas and kosmische musik from the back catalogs of Ohr, Sky and Brain." - Permanent.

Artist: VERMETTE, BIL
Title: Katha Visions
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $18.00
"A reissue of BIL VERMETTEs phenomenal private press LP, Katha Visions, from 1984. "Fans of all things SYNTH absolutely must hear this LP. Bil is a synthesizer aficionado and it shows.  The first track on the dark side is Mountain Funeral, an aptly titled ambient synth dirge if there ever was one. The title track ventures into territory that was likely influenced by Terry Riley and couldve easily been an influence on Bitchin Bajas. Its a repetitive, layered, and soothingly long centerpiece to the album. Long Trail Down closes out the A-side with effects that sound like seagulls floating over the top of the layered synth chord drones and melodies. Its an easy track to get lost in, but then again, so is this whole record. The light side (aka Side B) begins with Morning Dance an upbeat number featuring the first appearance of synthetic rhythms. Up to this point, Katha Visions has been completely instrumental, but Someday Soon features the only appearance by guest vocalist DAN COOPER. Coopers voice is melancholic and robotic, which fits in with the rest of the track perfectly. Staircase sounds like a long-lost John Carpenter horror flick theme while the albums closer Opposites Attract is the curveball track on Katha Visions. It includes the first and only appearance by BRUCE WALTERS, an old high school chum of Vermettes. Bruce disrupts the synth-clusiveness of the record with some soaring guitar lines that have us wondering what else he was up to around this time. We could also see Moon Duo doing a pretty bitchin cover of this one. Edition of 300 copies." - Permanent.

Artist: WATCHOUT!
Title: Flashbacker
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $19.00
"Domestic reissue of Chilean groups debut LP, previously available only on CD and an uber-limited lathe-cut import LP; WatchOut! is the lovechild proof that Os Mutantes and Popol Vuh had an elicit rendezvous in mid-70s Santiago. This Chilean rock group blends krauty synth textures with a tropicalian style not so successfully crafted since the 70s. Latin rhythms, fuzzy, wah-wah guitar leads, and melodic organ patterns are sewn sweetly together to create a quilt of psychedelic pop that would comfort even the coldest Brazilian psych aficionado. This LP was one of the best unheard and under‐released records of 2011. Flashbacker includes seven tracks of 60s Brazilian psych, 70s German hypnotism, 80s UK fuzz pop, and Indian raga influenced jams all seamlessly and brilliantly woven together." -Permanent.

Artist: ZIPPER
Title: s/t
Format: LP
Label: Permanent
Country: USA
Price: $21.00
"For our 50th label release, Permanent Records could not be MORE EXCITED to announce the 40th Anniversary reissue of Zippers self-titled LP from 1975!!!! You all know Fred Cole from Dead Moon. And yes, Pierced Arrows too! But preceding both of his more famous bands (and others like The Rats, etc, etc) was Zipper! Formed when Fred and Toody Cole returned to Portland, Oregon after homesteading in Alaska, Zipper was the beginning of both Whizeagle Records, their in-house label, and Freds long illustrious DIY RnR career. Equal parts acid fried psych, raw blistering guitar fireworks, proto-punk pummel and bone crunchin heavy rock machismo, Zipper was Freds headfirst dive back into the rock world after his disillusionment with the garage scene post Weeds / Lollipop Shoppe. No managers to tell him what songs to play or what sound was in. No label to fight with. Just Fred Cole and a close knit group of fellow disenchanted rock n rollers (Lorry Erk, Jim Roos and Greg Shadoan), playing their in-the-red whiskey and cigarette fueled music as loud and furious as can be!!! So for those into scorching Acid Archives psych rock, Zipper is yer next fix! And for those those Fred and Toody Cole completists, this reissue is ESSENTIAL, as originals go for as much as $250!!!! For everyone else, if you like yer rock n roll, RAW, MEAN AND UNHINGED, just like it should be." - Permanent.
