Title: Comet Of Despair
Format: LP
Label: Unheard Of
Country: USA
Price: $9.00
"...much of his material was actually recorded throughout the 80s and 90s, but is only now, in recent years, being released in small quantities by Hoke himself. His work brings to mind various left-of-center songsmiths such as Michael Hurley, Holy Modal Rounders, Lee Hazlewood, Syd Barrett, Daniel Johnston..." - Free Form Freakout. "In the age of social networking and digital distribution, where music fans are inundated with an endless barrage of preview tracks, video clips, and promotional blurbs, the story of little known Texas-based songwriter, Russell Hoke, reads almost like something swiped from the pages of The Acid Archives than from someone who has released four albums in 2011 alone. The truth is that Hoke had recorded a bunch of songs in the Eighties and Nineties, but has only, in the past few years, begun to actively release this material in limited, hand-assembled editions on his private press imprint, Unheard-Of." - Foxy Digitalis.

Title: Dont Fret
Format: LP
Label: Unheard Of
Country: USA
Price: $9.00
"The last track on this record was recorded in 1984 at Trinity University. "The Unjust Incarceration" is a piobaireachd, a classical composition for the Great Highland Bagpipe. This mighty piobaireachd was composed by Iain Dall MacKay (1656-1754), the Blind Piper of Gairloch. I play only the first section of the tune, known in piobaireachd as "the ground"; the entire tune is approximately sixteen minutes long. I consider the tune to be a lament for any person or consciousness that cannot release itself from suffering." - Russell Hoke.

"Dont fret. Thats Rustys job. While hes moving his fingers across those frets, all you have to worry about is partying. Listening to all your favorite country tunes sung in an easy, laid-back style. A background sound you can count on." - from the album notes.

Title: Haunted Brain
Format: LP
Label: Unheard Of
Country: USA
Price: $10.00
2010 LP available again with full color artwork and handwritten back cover info. Edition of 100 ."Wonderful musings from the haunted brain of Russell Hoke a timeless album of indie, outsider material sung and played by Hoke on guitar, banjo, and harmonica with the same blend of folk and blues as in his 80s recordings! The songs are better-formed here, but still recorded with a beautifully earthy feel the kind of vibe that folks pay plenty for on obscure "private" recordings of the 70s presented by Russell in a very similar format here especially given that the package for each record is hand-written and handmade! Title: He Would Have Been a Fine Young Man
Format: LP
Label: Unheard Of
Country: USA
Price: $9.00

His work brings to mind various left-of-center songsmiths such as Michael Hurley, Holy Modal Rounders, Lee Hazlewood, Syd Barrett, Daniel Johnston... And what an amazing record it is!! The album is a haunting work of psych-tinged folk and bluegrass that sounds like some lost late-sixties/early-seventies gem, adding a bit of intrigue and confusion to the 2011 copyright date." - Free Form Freakout.

Title: Sailor On the Blue
Format: LP
Label: Unheard Of
Country: USA
Price: $10.00
""Sailor on the Blue" is my last LP of original music. Most of the material on this record is newly recorded, but, as on most of my records, there are still a few tracks, such as "Weird Rachel" and "Hillbillys Lament," which were recorded in the mid-eighties. Side two features acoustic guitar and harmonica folky tunes." - Russell Hoke. Limited to 100 copies.

Title: With an Aching Heart
Format: LP
Label: Unheard Of
Country: USA
Price: $10.00
""With an Aching Heart" is mostly a record of favorite cover songs.  Only one song, "Scorpio Madi," is an original.  I recorded all but one song on a Califone tape recorder with a condenser mic.  My studios were my garage and bedroom.  Featuring eleven tracks, including classics such as:  "You Are My Sunshine," Im So Lonesome I Could Cry," "Hellhound on My Trail" (with banjo!), "House of the Rising Sun," "Girl of My Dreams," and "We Three" (once made popular by the Ink Spots. The album is raw and spare, with an aim toward sublime sorrow.  This will be my last record." - Russell Hoke. Limited to 100 copies.
