Top Notch! is an excellent example of the weirdo/punk/hippie amalgam that defines western Montanas independent music. NIKI hand-picked the gems that make this thing up, then hand silk-screened the covers (which features artist WALLY CATTONs psychedelic artwork). This comp rolls seamlessly from free-jazz locked-grooves, to Oneida-like space pummeling, back over to some of the "New Weird" stuff and back to thoroughly sticky, excellent pop and even some thuggy psychedelia.
