Title: Le Rocanrolorama Abrege
Format: Double LP + CD
Label: Because Music
Country: France
Price: $28.00
"Gatefold sleeve. Includes CD. Le Rocanrolorama Abrege is a clear perspective on Pascal Comelades musical universe; it can be considered an ultimate "best of" and a radical introduction to this chaotic and uncompromising instrumental music. Rocanrolorama Abrégé (abbreviated "rockandrolorama", in English) is the short version of the complete works and reworks of Pascal Comelade, published at the end of 2016 as a six-CD box set, in a limited edition of 1000, numbered and signed copies (BEC 5156515). Pascal Comelade made this album as if it was a new and separate album, with tracks that he considers to best represent his work, from 1993 to 2016, according to the principle applied with the Rocanrolorama box set: songs in their original form, alternative versions, reworks, additions. Le Rocanrolorama Abrégé was conceived with the double LP format in mind: four sides with six tracks each, which you can listen to in the right order, from start to finish, according to a logical, thought-out progression for each side (slow tempo, medium tempo, orchestrations, electricity, etc.), paying tribute to the concept behind the collection rhythm and blues formidable." - Because Music.

Title: Paralelo
Format: Double LP & CD
Label: Because Music
Country: France
Price: $33.00
"Because Music present the first reissue of Pascal Comelades Paralelo, originally released in 1980. This first reissue identically features all the elements of the original version: the black and white sleeve with its painting made by Don Jacques Ciccolini, and all musical features popularized by Pascal Comelade (repetitive music, the concept of sequences, and continuous sound). Auto-produced on his own label Parasite, Comelade mainly uses one instrument for all parts of the album: an EMS/AKS synthesizer. Recorded on K7 and 2-track tape recorder Revox A77, Paralelo is the most representative album from Pascal Comelades electronic times (1974/1981). A part from "Beyrouth 66", "Musique Ridicule", and "Erratum Musical", the album features a vocal loop (from English composer Gavin Bryars). This reissue comes as double-LP; the original version gets extended with the second vinyl. On the C side: "Séquences Païennes" are extracted from 1978 recording sessions, partially released on a 7" in 1979 and fully reissued in the six-CD boxset Rocanrolorama in 2016; On the D side: "15 Minutes de Sonoto-Luddisme", originally entitled "Musique par Correspondance" was recorded between Montpellier and London (1978-1981) with David Cunningham (member of the Flying Lizards and producer for Michael Nymanand This Heat). This musical track gets extended on more than 15 minutes that engrave the meeting between the two musicians. Gatefold sleeve." - Because Music.

Title: Rocanrolorama (1974-2016)
Format: 6 CD Box
Label: Because Music
Country: France
Price: $46.00
"Since the release of his first album in 1975, Pascal Comelade has worked profusely and participated in numerous collaborations with Richard Pinhas, PJ Harvey and Robert Wyatt. His compositions, depending on the period and their singular mixes, are reminiscent of MC5, Erik Satie, Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone and Suicide. Pascal Comelade has created a language, dancing on an indefinitely moving musical skeleton, from stripped-down sexiness to overly dressed orchestral sounds, by successive combinations, mixing both folklore, underground, repetitive and variety music, pataphysical riffs and toy-like instruments. He is a renowned artist, extensively supported by the general and musical press. Rocanrolorama (1974-2016) is the result of a process Pascal Comelade started in 2011, re-reading his repertoire which includes albums, cassettes, unreleased and exclusive material, live, alternative, re-recorded and re-worked versions. This self-revisited anthology is a six-CD box set, including an exclusive hand-numbered lithograph and a 72-page booklet with notes, credits, drawings; Edition of 1000. CD 1, My Degeneration (1974-1986), features: David Cunningham (Flying Lizards), Richard Pinhas (Heldon), Armand Miralles (Heriatus), Victor Nubla (Macromassa). CD 2, Slow Musics (1980-1997), features: Laurent Sinclair (Taxi-Girl), Mark Cunningham (Mars), members of the punk band from Montpellier OTH, General Alcazar. CD 3, Patafisiskal Polska (1992-1996), features: Toti Soler, Pierre Bastien, Jac Berrocal, Bel Canto Orquestra. CD 4, Musiques De Genre (1996-2000), features: PJ Harvey, Jean-Hervé Peron (Faust), Robert Wyatt, Miossec, Jac Berrocal, Jaki Liebezeit (Can), Bel Quanto Orquestra. Title: Traffic dAbstraction
Format: LP + CD
Label: Because Music
Country: France
Price: $27.00
“Well-known from both sides of the Pyrenees to Japan, Pascal Comeladeis a Catalan musician living in Dalís country. After living in Barcelona, where he founded his Bel Canto Orquestra in 1985, he released his first album Fluence, on Pôle in 1975. This first work was definitely inspired by electronic music, especially by Richard Pinhass band Heldon. Comelade likes making links between arts, mixing music with graphic design and literature. It is indeed one of composers first concerns to not stay locked in patterns and codes specific to a style. Painter Robert Combas created the original artwork of Comelades 1993 album, Traffic dAbstraction. For this reissue, Combass second painting, which was on the inside of the original CD booklet, now appears on the back of the main jacket. The selection here also includes only the songs that Comelade judges to be the best from the original album, along with completed versions, alternative versions, and previously unreleased pieces from the same time period as Traffic dAbstraction. Additionally, the CD includes the animation clip "The Skatalan Logicofobism," created by Florence Deygas and Olivier Kuntzel in Paris in 1994. This reissue coincides with Comelades appearance as a pianist accompanying Robert Combas and François Boisronds visual performance in Paris, Porte de Champerret. Presented in gatefold sleeve. Numbered edition of 500.” - Because Music.
