Title: S/T
Format: LP
Label: Feathers Family
Country: USA
Price: $17.00
"Hailing from the verdant hills of Vermont, Feathers has come down to the valleys to play their own tunes of goat horns, sentimental ballads and angel children for you. Until this point, you could only buy their very limited CD-R?s as you caught their live performances. Now, for the first time, their self released LP is available, complete with large full color poster and is limited to 1,000 copies. Feathers is eight musicians, five of whom write the songs. They play a range of instruments; mountain dulcimer, lap harp, sitar, banjo, acoustic guitar and electric guitar solos with a heavy focus on vocal harmonies. There is an unsullied quality to the songs, which is difficult to find in the music scene of today. Feathers will be appearing on a few tracks of DEVENDRA BANHART?S new album, Cripple Crow. They are recently back from a two week tour with SMOG, and are now working on their various side projects. Two members of Feathers play with J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. in the band WITCH." - Feathers Family.

Label: Gnomonsong
Country: USA
Price: $13.00
"FEATHERS are an eight-piece collective musical ensemble, currently based between Northampton, Massachusetts and Brattleboro, Vermont. Formed in 2003, the band features five primary songwriters, each with a unique style, and four singers. All eight musicians switch around on numerous instruments, loosely playing what can be described as psychedelic folk. Their debut album, now issued on CD for the first time via Gnomonsong, features simple strummed guitars, delightfully sweet harmonies, lysergic electric guitar, and tribal drumming, with a swirly folk vibe throughout. The group seems to draw inspiration from the same magical, natural forest elements that motivated Incredible String Band and Comus to release their own classic music in decades past. Yes, songs about forest creatures and loving the moon are contained herein." - Gnomonsong.
