Artist: GONZO
Title: Dies Irae
Format: LP
Label: Discrepant
Country: UK
Price: $26.00
"Gonzo is musician, DJ and Discrepant head honcho, Gonçalo F Cardoso. Since starting the label back in 2010, Gonzo has released a series of limited collage tapes on the label, Dies Irae being the very first one back in 2012. He now decides to give it the vinyl treatment with specially commissioned artwork from Belgium artist, Elzo Durt. It unapologetically stitches together field recordings, sound generators, random loops and "unfinished" compositions to accompany weird spoken word moments. It kick started the self-penned Gonzo collage style. "Gonzo has created one of the best tapes Ive ever heard, bar none, with Dies Irae. Never to these ears, at least on a cassette, has a collage-style collection of samples and other assorted sounds/noises/atmospheric devices come together so convincingly, as if each element was created strictly to serve the purposes of the end product." - Tiny Mix Tapes.

Title: Radio Kampala/Skull Cave
Format: 7"
Label: Discrepant
Country: USA
Price: $14.00
"Exclusive limited white label, hand-stamped promo single from Gonzo. Exploring the depths of East African religious beliefs from ancient animistic traditions to the more recent christian evangelic trends. On the B side, a more tongue-in-cheek take on East African dictators advice and other field recording madness. Recorded by Gonzo in Kampala, 2016." - Discrepant.

Title: SE Asian Noise(s)
Format: Cass
Label: Sucata
Country: UK
Price: $13.00
"Kicking off the brand new Sucata Tapes label is Gonzo with a new volume of the never-ending Noise(s) series. This time, he presents his alternate and surreal perspective of sounds and sights from the South East Asian sub-continent. Featuring recordings from Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, SE Asian Noise(s) intersects randomly through AM/FM radio, field recordings, in situ compositions, and some re-interpreted recordings from Laurent Jeanneaus, aka Kink Gong, massive archive of the region. Not to be taken as a document or representation of a time and/or place but rather a personal diary full of vignettes distorted by time, memory, and subjectivity." - Sucata.
