Title: Battle of Brisbane
Format: LP
Label: Bruit Direct
Country: France
Price: $26.00
"Battle of Brisbane is the third album by Kitchens Floor and their first full-length release since 2011s Look Forward to Nothing (Siltbreeze), which followed 2009s Loneliness Is a Dirty Mattress (R.I.P Society, Bedroom Suck Records). Guitarist and vocalist Matt Kennedy is joined by a new lineup of members including Robert Vagg (Wonderfuls, Meat Thump) on drums and Josh Watson (Sewers) on bass. Sarah Spencer (Blank Realm) also provides additional vocals. The album contains 10 tracks of uncompromisingly nihilistic outsider rock and roll. Inspired by the indifference of the city the band calls home and the sad events that can happen to the characters within it, Battle of Brisbane is a bitter ode to existential dread battered through a minimalist punk façade. Recorded by Luke Walsh (Blank Realm) and mastered by Marly Luske, Battle of Brisbane is a uniquely fucked oddity in the modern rock landscape." - Bruit Direct.

Title: Deadshits
Format: 7"
Label: Easter Bilby
Country: USA
Price: $10.00
"KITCHENS FLOOR at its most naive, primitive and pure. Before the electric guitars, multiple line up changes, Lou Reed, and Insects. These songs were recorded one afternoon in 2008 when JULIA and I were a couple of wastoid 21 year old depressives that thought we could defeat the waves of bland musical shit that was permeating Australia at the time. I will say we lost that battle but almost won the war, and all it took was an old guitar, some bits of a drum kit, and beer. These songs would go on to be re-recorded for Loneliness is a Dirty Mattress and Live in Brisbane, but what you hear here are the original and arguably best renditions. Remastered for wax and posterity, and also for your audiophiliac enjoyment." -Easter Bilby.

Title: Live in Brisbane
Format: 12"
Label: Quemada
Country: USA
Price: $13.00
"Quemada Records is happy to announce the release of Kitchens Floor “Live in Brisbane” LP, the long awaited vinyl version of their “Too Dead To Notice” tape only release from the late Brendon Annesleys Negative Guest List Records. The record captures the band live in Brisbane (duh) in 2010 between the “Loneliness is a Dirty Mattress” (Bedroon Suck/RIP Society) and “Look Forward to Nothing” (Silbreeze) LPs and at a moment when the band was teetering on oblivion. This performance could easily have been the bands last and in fact was Julia Norris last stand behind the drum kit. The band was also without a bassist which left Kitchens Floor stripped down to main man Matt Kennedy, who had switched to acoustic guitar this evening, and Julia accompanied on a couple tunes by Andrew Mclellans (Cured Pink) stupor inducing organ. By all account the show shouldve been a disaster and maybe it was, but who the hell cares when the disaster sounds this perfect. And let us not forget: these are those moments when ROCK really happens, no matter what murk it must travel to get to your ears." - Quemada

Title: Regrets
Format: 7"
Label: RIP Society
Country: Australia
Price: $12.00
"Originally released in 2010 in edition of 300 and selling out within a couple of months. Reissued (and I say reissued as we had to get new plates made) in July 2013 as its an important part of the KITCHENS FLOOR discography. Although some would argue that "Still Night" is one of the worst Kitchens Floor songs, the consensus at R.I.P HQ is that its one of the best. Heres the mastermind of group MATT KENNEDYs recollection of the recording... These 3 songs were recorded in an old dilapidated share house in Spring Hill, Brisbane. They were recorded by JORDAN SWEENEY on an old reel to reel tape thing. This was late 2009, not long after Loneliness is a Dirty Mattress had been released to massive success and I was finally able to make a living from selling photos and t-shirts of my house. Many people have commented on the complete lack of appreciable sound quality for this record. Some have told me that Still Night is the worst song I have ever written. I dont think it is my best either but I have written worse, Insects for example. I am proud of this record, it is honest and is what it is. Orbit and Regrets were written from the heart, and these versions of them are raw as heck. Prominent in the mix is the sturdy bass playing of GLEN SCHENAU, and the impeccable drum work of JULIA NORRIS. That percussion pot never sounded finer than it does on this release. So go forth and listen! And hit me up if you want photos or t-shirts of my house." -Australia.

Title: Look Forward to Nothing
Format: LP
Label: Siltbreeze
Country: USA
Price: $16.00
"Loneliness Is a Dirty Mattress, the debut LP by Australian trio KITCHENS FLOOR, made many ponderous pinetops top ten list in 2010 and with good reason. The band aptly channels an adroit cacophony that recalls the former glory of past Aussie noise / punk gnashers such as Rejex and Feedtime with such elan that one might suspect Tooheys Sheaf courses through their veins. On Look Forward to Nothing, new drummer JOE ALEXANDER (also found in the excellent combo, PER PURPOSE) gives Kitchens Floor a much more thunderous drive, with the the results sounding not unlike a cage match between (the Australian) X and The Gordons. True, the pummeling is without quarter and theres blood everywhere. But take stock, friend-its all yours! Which just goes to show that the best thing about beating your head against the wall is that its to Kitchens Floor. Look for the band Stateside late August through September, touring coast to coast and also dealing pain at Gonerfest 2011. Aloha. Includes download." - Siltbreeze.
