Title: Faster Than The Speed Of Time
Format: LP
Label: Dilettante Courtoisie
Country: France
Price: $27.00
"The superpowered arrogance of the title (of an earlier KRAUS release called I Could Destroy You With a Single Thought)," observes NZ watchdog Jon Bywater, "Matches the pains taken to craft (it), somewhere between a pop Moog record and the harshest no wave. Short melodic and rhythmic figures are worked hard into the knife edge between queasy claustrophobia and rigorous brilliance." A resident of Auckland, Kraus plays guitar, drums, synthesizer, organ, tape loops and electronics; he played drums in THE MURDERING MONSTERS and THE AESTHETICS, co-founded THE FUTURIANS and played on their first album !Blastov! (Root Don Lonie For Cash 2001) and plays currently in POUFFE (with Matthew Plunkett), THE MALTESE FALCONS (with Duckling Monster of The Futurians), and OLYMPUS (with Stefan Neville). Edition of 300." -Dilettante Courtoisie

Title: Luxury and Mystery
Format: 7" Lathe Cut
Label: Epic Sweep
Country: New Zealand
Price: $15.00
“Sounding like a Soviet-era Dr Who special invaded by 60s psych guitarists”, this is the latest release by Auckland based artist Kraus. Sci-fi soundtrack synth bleepery and guitar fuzz give way to Moondog-like time signatures with a dash of exotica. Phew! The ex-Murdering Monsters, Aesthetics and Futurians drummer and electronics whizz kid continues to evolve a sound all his own." - Epic Sweep. Limited to 40 copies.

Title: The Facts
Format: Cass
Label: Imvated
Country: Belgium
Price: $11.00
"a 30 minutes book on tape. Kraus, drumpad for acts like THE AESTHETICS and THE FUTURIANS, gives the humble an insight to his path of life. from deep listening spacesounds towards bubbly synth excursions: this is a unique vision. Pat Kraus manages to sound like the BBC RADIOPHONIC WORKSHOP run through the minds of alien creatures. this is truly my imaginary BAD CHANNELS OST. currently, Pat is working at an lp for ULTRA ECZEMA, because society wants more...." - Imvated

Title: Golden Treasury
Format: Cass
Label: Oma333
Country: Sweden
Price: $8.00
"A medieval stomp comes through your left speaker, a drunk robot soundtrack wanders out of your right. A laser pulse rips out of a homemade synth. A fuzzy guitar line dances the off beat. Kraus sounds like the best circus ever! I was blessed to come across his music via his Supreme Commander tape found at Audio Foundation in Auckland (thanks for the tip Chris!). It was a great comfort for my long trip home. The awesome KRAAK crew brought him over last year for their festival and I warmly welcomed him over to play at Fylkingen with Marijn on drums (Sweat Tongue). Superb gig! Anyways Ultra Eczema recently put out his decade old album "I Could Destroy You with a Single Thought" on vinyl and all 200 sold mighty swiftly. This got me thinking about what else was lurking in his closet and here we are! Golden Treasury is from 2009 and full of gems including my old favourite "Dog on the Loose". Grab one of these beauties while you can! 150 grey tapes with black body printing. Released on Dec 12th. Designed by Peter Larsson with a Kraus supplied image. Risograph print by Jan Matthe." - Oma333.

Title: Sherry
Format: 7"
Label: Palto Flats
Country: USA
Price: $6.00
"Following a much-loved full-length, New Zealander Kraus (Klaus, drummer of Futurians, member of Olympus with Stefan Neville) really brings the goods on this four-song outing of pure Martian stomp. Analog synths, gritty low-end rhythm tracks, tangled/stumbled guitar melodies and above all DETERMINATION to get something done really push this one along in a way that the Kraus LP really didnt (or didnt need to, as these recordings may predate that work). These songs sound like progress, and its a doubly amazing feat as there arent really songs here; more like a bunch of low-tech machines set forth to follow a complex pattern, and listening to them complete it over and over is fascinating enough. Its like having a half-mile of slot car track, infinite terrain options, and the will to build something huge to scale. Also reminds me of those film clips of “The Worlds Biggest Domino Rally” that would get shows at the back end of local news or human interest shows on TV back in the 80s, where a bunch of dudes in a big room set off a huge chain reaction, patterns, etc. Really dig this one a lot."-Still Single/Doug Mosurock

Title: I Could Destroy You with a Single Thought
Format: LP
Label: Ultra Eczema
Country: Belgium
Price: $23.00
"I Could Destroy You with a Single Thought, by New Zealands mysterious bedroom legend Kraus, was originally self-published as a CDR in 2004. I am quite sure it is the most played CDR at the UE office, and after 11 years it still plays. It is also our very first reissue, and happens to coincide with our 18th birthday. We usually rant a little here, in pseudo poetic antics, trying hard to describe how a record sounds and looks. This time youll have to trust us that it is one of the best albums of psychedelic bedroom anthems youll ever hear: all hits, in a classic way. We have just released it on vinyl so you (and me) can find it easily; no more digging between hundreds of spineless CDR sleeves. Nerds! (limited to 200 handnumbered copies)." - Ultra Eczema.
