Artist: PHANTOM FAMILY HALO
Title: The Legend of Black Six
Format: LP
Label: Black Velvet Fuckere
Country: USA
Price: $14.00
"Debauche hedonism a la early 1970s rock... a party album for excavating your libido. Krautrock lock grooves give way to full throttle Alice Cooper/Black Sabbath moves but mid-tempo Scott Walker fronting early Roxy Music is closest to the core; with occassional flickers of Tangerine Dream synth-glaciers and Marc Bolan bare-bones. Dominic Mario Santo Cipolla also sings in Dead Child (Venom/Judas Priest veined metal band with David Pajo on guitar; ep forthcoming) and plays drums and sings some with Sapat (forthcoming LP/CD on Siltbreeze). Phantom Family Halo guitarist Michael McMahan was also a touring member of the Slint Reunion band and founding member of The For Carnation along with his older brother Brian McMahan. Vinyl only silk-screened first edition." - Black Velvet Fuckere.

Title: Music From Italian T.V.
Format: LP
Label: Sophomore Lounge
Country: USA
Price: $15.00
"Over the past year, The Phantom Family Halo released its Monoliths & These Flowers Never Die double-album and subsequently played a number of epic shows in town. Music from Italian TV continues with a pleasantly confusing blend of styles in a more concise format. Staples of their live show, like Its OK About the War (Gettysburg Jam) and Bringing Back the Dead get a more polished, sublime treatment, while longer tracks like opener I Believe In Everything and Overkirsh present yet more experimentation, the former resembling a jam off Amon Duuls 1969 classic Psychedelic Underground played backward and superimposed with television dialogue. There are a number of good bands in Louisville these days, but theres not another band here, much less the rest of the nation, as inventive as The Phantom Family Halo." - LEO Weekly.

Title: Raven Town Witch
Format: LP
Label: Sophomore Lounge
Country: USA
Price: $14.00
"Phantom Family Halos "Raven Town Witch" is a slinky and sinister Southern Gothic brew evoking early glam, psychedelia (ala Krautrockers Brainticket), hand claps reminiscent of 60s girl groups, Roxy Musics "In Every Dream Home a Heartache," and yet somehow manages to remain unpredictably timeless. The perfect record for the party after the after party or a raucous late night ritual in celebration of your inner witch." - Lydia Lunch.
