"It was 1979, during the Argentine dictatorship, when Ricardo Iorio and Ricardo Moreno decided to start a heavy rock band called Comunion Humana. Two months later some tracks were arranged and Gerardo Osemberg joined ´em as drummer. Inspired by fast engines and the intensity of their playing, the band took V8 as their moniker. During 1980-1982 they played lots of shows that were filled with dramatic incidents: disturbances, arrests, detentions, and event deaths. For these reasons the image of the band was totally conditioned and people started to hate them. In 1982 they recorded their legendary demo-tape and started to receive more attention from others countries. They played lots of gigs, some totally sold out and others empty because crowds hated their rock image and attitude. In 1983 they recorded their debut album Luchando por el Metal ("Fighting for the Metal") with their classic line-up: Ricardo Iorio on bass, Osvaldo Civile on guitar, Alberto Zarmarbide on vocals, and Gustavo Rowek on drums. Before disbanding in 1987 they recorded more albums and their status grew, making them a reference and inspiration for many metal heads all around the world. V8 were chased, ill-treated, and despised for their social lyrics and also for the incidents that occurred at every show. As we mentioned before, there was a tragedy at one show in Estadio Platense, where fighting with the police resulted in deaths. Beat Generation is more than proud to release this record officially for the first time, a total cult piece of South American metal: a record perfect for the times we are living in now. 180 gram vinyl, limited to 500 copies. Comes in original cover with lyrics insert." -Beat Generation.

Title: Un Paso Más en la Batalla
Format: LP
Label: Beat Generation
Country: Spain
Price: $22.00
"180-gram vinyl; limited to 500 copies. Between August and September of 1984, the Argentine band V8 entered the studio to record their much-anticipated follow-up to their mighty debut, Luchando por el Metal, the first metal album released in Argentina. This second album was the consecration for the band; their fans were already thousands but they got more and more recognition with this new LP. The bands reputation grew, partly by virtue of their lyrics, which reflected the dictatorship of the time and the pain and frustration of the whole society, and partly due to their commitment to play everywhere they could. The new songs were still fast and direct, and a little better played than the previous albums, so this album helped them to gain a cult status in their country and the rest of the metal world. This is the first vinyl reissue of this seminal album of South American metal. Replica cover art and insert." - Beat Generation.
