BLUES CONTROL - Puff

First album now on CD (vinyl is out of print)! "...the music of Blues Control, as evidenced on this record, is a master work explodin. It germinates absolutely from the bowels of the Blues but erupts via a postmodern portal; there are gorgeous sheens of rust that fissure throughout, harmonicas smoke in the distance, guitars splatter, keyboards ooze white hot neo psychedelic lava, in the end, like the music emitted from Apollos lyre, it is a devastatingly wondrous experience. And as much as I hear the (non specific) PSF or Akiyama buzz, to me Blues Control seem beget from the prominent clang & snarl of Dead C, who was beget by This Heat, who was beget by Faust, from whose seed it all originated. And thats nothin to sneeze about, unless yous is allergic to greatness. A cd on Holy Mountain is next. Theys on tour right now too, so drop everything & go seeem! I know its early, but Puff seems a shoe-in for one of the years best." - Siltblog.

"Puff is the work of two modern gris gris chefs, and the most righteously authentic stoner gumbo this side of Twin Infinitives or Jungle Rot. Glittery framed sunglasses and dopers remorse. The finest racket of 2007 so far." - james jackson toth/wooden wand.

"Blues Controls distorted rumblings sound like Mountain or Cream songs emanating from a sunken submarine." -- New York Times.

"Deep in the redundant junk DNA of the blues, between the reptilian throwbacks and vegetable remnants, lurks the mutation that gives life to Blues Control." -- Nick Southgate / The Wire.

"Brute force monstrosity trudge in the cloudsmashing style of the mighty Blue Cheer...and impressionist, introspective space and electronic plant music on that subtle plane visited by Eric Satie and Popul Vuh." -- Arthur Magazine."Celestial, watery progressive/psych stuns and beautiful puffs of minimal melody." -- Volcanic Tongue.

"I saw Blues Control play a show a couple nights ago and it was totally weird and great. On top of being truly unique retro-futuristic heavy psychedelia (thats the part I expected), the visuals of their setup combined with the sonics to make me think of all kinds of unexpected things, like various beats & rhythms heard from passing cars.....cheap-keyboard entertainment in the neon-lit backs of inner-city restaurants...... all the details you might find inside a pawn shop or bodega.... what can I say, it is definitely some new kind of urban music." -- Larry Dolman / Blastitude.

It germinates absolutely from the bowels of the Blues but erupts via a postmodern portal; there are gorgeous sheens of rust that fissure throughout, harmonicas smoke in the distance, guitars splatter, keyboards ooze white hot neo psychedelic lava, in the end, like the music emitted from Apollos lyre, it is a devastatingly wondrous experience." -- Roland Woodbe.

After nearly a decade of false starts, multiple game plans veering off the rails, and a handful of shattered hopes and/or dreams, the odyssey is finally complete—the new Fusetron site is here.

This is the first phase of a multipart rollout that will span the next few months: the currently browsable stock includes miscellaneous new releases from the past 8+ months (we have a lot of catching up to do), plus approximately a third of our backstock. Note that we’ve reduced/slashed prices on many titles and will continue to do so in order to make room for new stock. We’ll also be expanding / tweaking / improving / debugging the site itself (for example, we still have work to do on the automated international postage system, not to mention the inevitable inventory discrepancies that come with transferring an ancient and massive database to a new system).

Over the next few months, as we take inventory, clean house, and delve into our storage, we will be uploading thousands of additional items, gradually, on a near-daily basis. This will include the majority of the LPs, as well as many titles, in all formats, once thought long-gone. Many currently “sold out” items are likely to resurface.

Finally, once our general backstock is up (probably in the next two or three months) we’ll begin making our extensive stockpile of rarities available online for the first time: tons of random out-of-print titles, "deadstock," warehouse finds, secondhand collectibles, etc., accumulated over the past few decades.

Frequent/returning customers will be getting early access to these items. Details to follow on how this will work (a priority mailing list? a 'frequent flyer'-like program?), but it will not be based on dollars spent. We want to reward those who consistently support us, especially in the discogs marketplace era (to those who show up trying to poach five copies of a one-off rarity, and nothing else, ever… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ).

So—we suggest you take some time to dig through the site—even we’ve been surprised by what’s been turning up, and there’s much more to come.
