'Fan Club" reissue of rare 1981 7" originally on M Squared. Edition of 100.

Liner notes from Chapter Musics "Cant Stop It II - Australian Post-Punk 1979-84" compilation : "Belle Du Soir formed from the ashes of Sydney surf-punk band Surfside 6, whose lineup included future veteran music journalist Toby Creswell, Ex-members Geoffrey Datsun and Catherine Courtenay holed up in outer suburban Rozelle, in a studio under their friend Tara's house, and set themselves a target of writing and recording a song a day for a year. The end result was the lo-fi, amateurish and captivating Belle Du Soir EP, released in August 1981 by M Squared. "All the recording was done directly into a four track TEAC - no desk, no EQ, no nothing,* Geoffrey recalls. "The sound on the vinyl was the sound in the room, using compression. The drums on The Gun were a stack of sheet glass propped on milk bottles, and the garage roller door provided a rudimentary reverb plate. The irate neighbours took to letting Tara's car tyres down in protest at the noise."
