"CARCAVILLA's original scores for the video installation Sanhattan by IGNACIO GATICA, presented at the 2026 Whitney Biennial."

"Nicolás Carcavilla is a Chilean musician, active in the fields of psychedelic music, dub and electronica under various names. The Last Servants (2024) is a concept album set in a dystopian future, in which a fallen dictator transfers his consciousness into a Robot to escape to a distant planet, but crashes on to Antarctica, where he muses on consciousness, mortality and his own past. The spoken-word narration, written by José Badía Berner from Carcavilla's initial concept, and voiced by actor Kenneth Welsh, is set to a suitably bleak and atmospheric, though not particularly groundbreaking, electronic soundscape."

"Gatica is a New Yorker who grew up in a Chile ruled by dictator Augusto Pinochet, whose economic policies were under the sway of U.S. policy and free-market absolutists from the University of Chicago. Gatica’s work can be seen as an act of retrospective resistance against that era, and an inquiry into capitalism in general...

...His practice investigates systems of knowledge and technologies that shape urban, historical, and personal experience. His work critically examines neoliberal economic policies and debt-bolstering systems, revealing transactional operations that dictate contemporary life."
