EXCEPTER - Presidence

EXCEPTER -¢?? PRESIDENCE -¢?¬¶ -¢??LONG DISTANCE MUSIC-¢?¬ùPRESIDENCE is the eighth album in as many years by EXCEPTER. A double compact disc, PRESIDENCE explores the long-format side of EXCEPTER, focusing on continuous live performance and extended compositions. Over the course of more than two hours, PRESIDENCE spans the full spectrum of the EXCEPTER sound, from street-level electro to cosmic synth infinity and beyond. This is the sound of the band leaving Earth behind. EXCEPTER -¢?? PRESIDENCE -¢?¬¶ RECORDING NOTES: TELEPORTATION A six-song suite improvised in one continuous, live recording performed at Nathan Corbin and Clare Amorys home studio on October 18th, 2008. Behind the final door -¢?¬¶ is another door. LENG A multi-track instrumental recorded by Mitch Rackin at the Sea Side Lounge studios over the winter of 2007 during the DEBT DEPT sessions. Titled in tribute to a Lovecraft tale location. OG A live-to-stereo recording from the bands six-hour -¢??Return to Black Hole-¢?¬ù dog days performance at the Williamsburg experimental cinema-restaurant Monkey Town on July 17th, 2007. PRESIDENCE A solo synthesizer performance by John Fell Ryan recorded Presidents Day, 2003. (Pre-War) THE ANTI-NOAH Another recording from July 17th, 2007. Not in reference to our pal Panda, but rather to question the NOAA public closing of The Sound Garden since 9/11. Why would terrorists target meteorologists or an obscure sound sculpture park? Excepter wonder. THE OPEN WELL A selection from the bands 17-hour -¢??protest-¢?¬ù performance at Monkey Town on Election Day, 2008. Other recordings here: http://www.youtube.com/view-play-list?p=969A9C4C8185CEBA COME WHEN YOU CALL A dubbed-up monster mash of ALL live recordings of this Nathan Corbin program, from Echo Park to MIT. Los Angeles video version here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cD4W1IYO-T0 EXCEPTER -¢?? PRESIDENCE -¢?¬¶ -¢??THE LAST COMPACT DISC-¢?¬ù PRESIDENCE is not designed for playback on laptop speakers. Listeners should plug into a stereo. PRESIDENCE: If you fall asleep while listening to this record, please to dream of only EXCEPTER. EXCEPTER is a six-member improvisational electronic and vocal group based in NYC. Founded in 2002 with the stated intent to use the tools of dance music towards esoteric ends, Excepter was behind many of the classic recordings associated with the 00s Brooklyn Noise phenomenon. Excepters 2008 Paw Tracks LP -¢??Debt Dept-¢?¬ù seemed to predict the global economic collapse that followed its release. The Excepter live experience remains an unpredictable, mystifying affair -¢?? always singular, never the same show twice. - Excepter.

After nearly a decade of false starts, multiple game plans veering off the rails, and a handful of shattered hopes and/or dreams, the odyssey is finally complete—the new Fusetron site is here.

This is the first phase of a multipart rollout that will span the next few months: the currently browsable stock includes miscellaneous new releases from the past 8+ months (we have a lot of catching up to do), plus approximately a third of our backstock. Note that we’ve reduced/slashed prices on many titles and will continue to do so in order to make room for new stock. We’ll also be expanding / tweaking / improving / debugging the site itself (for example, we still have work to do on the automated international postage system, not to mention the inevitable inventory discrepancies that come with transferring an ancient and massive database to a new system).

Over the next few months, as we take inventory, clean house, and delve into our storage, we will be uploading thousands of additional items, gradually, on a near-daily basis. This will include the majority of the LPs, as well as many titles, in all formats, once thought long-gone. Many currently “sold out” items are likely to resurface.

Finally, once our general backstock is up (probably in the next two or three months) we’ll begin making our extensive stockpile of rarities available online for the first time: tons of random out-of-print titles, "deadstock," warehouse finds, secondhand collectibles, etc., accumulated over the past few decades.

Frequent/returning customers will be getting early access to these items. Details to follow on how this will work (a priority mailing list? a 'frequent flyer'-like program?), but it will not be based on dollars spent. We want to reward those who consistently support us, especially in the discogs marketplace era (to those who show up trying to poach five copies of a one-off rarity, and nothing else, ever… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ).

So—we suggest you take some time to dig through the site—even we’ve been surprised by what’s been turning up, and there’s much more to come.
I understand these terms
