"Unease has breached Fine Murell, a duplex in Oakland, California housing an errant and enigmatic polycule. Tasked with the production of antiseptic genera while they maintain their own fluid sociosexual hierarchy, these dips, discoverers, boinkers, and other lover/worker tiers have been assembling apace, albeit with interference by an annoyance of bosses, competitors, and propulsions between so-called grubjects. Hysteresis: proprioception lags erotic induction, architecture’s plenty stage for networked filters—even when creeple lie further afield. Anosognosia: blamelessly injurious and accusatory. Chirality: doubles captured by inversion. Yet even as these scraps of business sieve livelihood, a drifting gap space-time fracture dubbed Polastra has transposed the recent past atop the present, its dizzy pollen scrambling jobs and chatter, rendering those caught beneath its circumference within or against their former selves. Quotas, tech interfaces threatened. Imposition of regrets and tenderness. Polastra’s arrangements are gathered in discrete sectors of output, grists of labors loved and lost. Where’s this exploitation of Fine Murell’s weakness coming from, lost in the swirl? Affections’ perplex and overflow the departed know—Gimli knew.
