"Frenemas produce ragged electronic atmospherics, inspired by haunted LES squats, crust junkies under the BQE, Bushwick K-2 overdoses, sacred harp singing, rain forests, ASMR, the records of Tolerance, Missing Foundation, Rudimentary Peni, Brian Eno, 80's/early 90's dystopian soundtracks, and pigeons who really control/patrol the cities.
The Brooklyn duo of Chip Kolpen (Chorizo/Triple Hex) and Brad Truax (Home/Soldiers of Fortune/Interpol) formed in 2018. They are anti mind control by artificial intelligence, don't believe in left or right... they're for the children! Crust Ambient is how they've dubbed their sound, striving to provide an anarcho backdrop to the present Gutter New Age dark times.
Cassettes "1" and "2" were recorded deep within the Polish Hollywood district of Greenpoint, in pre-quarantine 2020, direct to 4 track cassette at G19 studios, and post-mixed by Heather Elle (Flossing, The Wants).
Released in an edition of 25 hand painted and stickered cassette boxes. Includes DL Code.
